Employer Encounters

OUR STUDENTS OF TODAY - YOUR WOR KFORCE OF TOMORROW

Employer Encounters Brief

As part of our academy's careers program we are looking for employers who can spare some time to engage with our students and inspire them to think about their future plans and careers.

At Newhouse Academy, we hold Aspiration as one of our 3 core values (Aspiration, Integrity and Respect) and we are passionate about wanting all of our students to leave our academy ready to continue their education or career in their desired destination.

We believe that encounters with as broad a range of future employers as possible are key to helping provide our students with the knowledge, drive and skills needed to succeed once they leave us.

We would welcome that engagement in a variety of settings, as outlined in this document. This list is not exhaustive and we are happy to work with you and adapt to suit most suggestions. Some of these events could be delivered either live or as a virtual experience.

If you would like to discuss how you could work with us to inspire our students then we would love to hear from you.

Coordinator, Rebecca Jones on 01706 369436 or by email

Raising Aspirations at Newhouse Academy through ongoing partnerships with Post 16 providers and local companies.

Newhouse Academy are always looking to network with employers and the wider community to support with CEIAG provision.

At previous Future Foundations careers events we welcomed Pets at Home, Ryder & Dutton, Trammell Crow Company and Eric Wright Construction along with Further Education Providers.

We aim to grow our employer network at future events to raise the aspirations of students at the academy, and engage them in thinking about their life and education choices.

In the classroom - Willmott Dixon and Bellway homes have delivered curriculum subject based presentations and Q&A sessions in a classroom setting.

Workplace visits - The college and career readiness software used at Newhouse Academy, helps students discover relevant career options based on their personality, skills and knowledge, and opens their eyes to future possibilities. This means students can be selected in small groups to visit a workplace where they are truly interested and matched to the workplace they are visiting.
