Program Guide 8TH ANNUAL NEW HOPE FILM FESTIVAL
JULY 21 - 30, 2017
! New Hope Film Festival, Ltd., 6542-A Lower York Rd., #219, New Hope, PA 18938
June 2017
Welcome to the 8th Annual New Hope Film Festival! We’re excited to present this opportunity to immerse yourself in talent from the MidAtlantic region and around the world, and with 136 Official Selections from 16 countries available, there are wide and rich offerings to consider. As always, we recommend you read the Program Guide and take a selective approach, because 10 straight days of films and one script reading event would be an ambitious undertaking for anyone, and we like to foster a relaxed, collegial, thoughtful and heartfelt atmosphere as opposed to a frenetic one. The New Hope Film Festival is made possible by grassroots support from filmmakers who submit their works, members and sponsors from the Mid-Atlantic region, and the many patrons who purchase tickets during the event. We feel incredibly grateful and honored for this ongoing enthusiasm for our hard work. People who discover this area for the first time through the festival absolutely love it, and the organizers of this festival can see why—we live here ourselves because of the high quality of life. We hope you will discover the area, too, if you haven’t already, at New Hope Film Festival’s 2017 event! See you at the movies!
All the best, D. F. Whipple Executive Director New Hope Film Festival

Script Reading Event The New Hope Film Festival Script Competition (aka NHFF Script) is all about discovering and assisting talented screenwriters who have a great story to tell. The road from writing a script to movie production is typically long and unpredictable, but a film festival like NHFF can oer advice, input, and encouragement as well as a network of people who can assist a script along its journey.
2017 marks the first year that NHFF Script works can be experienced in a live reading environment. The participating screenwriters will be at the reading to hear their own words read aloud and get feedback from both the audience and the Philadelphia and New Hope actors who have been invited to read.
This exciting new event is open to the public and takes place on Sunday, July 30 from 12 - 2:00 pm at New Hope Arts Center, 2 Stockton Avenue, New Hope. Tickets are available in advance and at the door.
