The Chariots at Augusta Park
Augusta Park is part of a major regeneration programme that will bring new schools, colleges, entertainment venues and thousands of new homes to this already well-established and bustling Hampshire town.
This is an area with its own rich history. Andover is the location of a major crossing point of two important Roman roads, the Portway from Winchester to Marlborough, and the Icknield Way, which runs past Augusta Park on its way between Salisbury and Silchester. The actual site of the crossroads is very close to the development, but excavations in 1970, while revealing many Roman remains, failed to find the exact location. Augusta Park benefits from easy access to many of Andover’s excellent amenities, so it’s the perfect location for young professionals and for growing families. There are primary schools within walking distance, and secondary schools just over a mile away. Andover station (1.5 miles) offers regular services to London Waterloo, with a journey time of just over an hour. The A303 trunk road connects with the M3 (Junction 8, 10 miles) for easy trips to London and the South Coast. What better choice for the everyday commuter!
Andover itself contains all the big supermarkets, including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Lidl, plus an excellent selection of major High Street shops, banks, pubs, clubs and restaurants. For keeping fit, the Prettyfit Gym is less than a mile away, and Andover Golf Club is just two miles from your doorstep. Motorsport fans will find regular events at Thruxton Circuit, just 6 miles away. Slightly further afield, the historic attractions and unique shops of Winchester (15 miles) are well worth exploring, while Basingstoke (15 miles) offers ‘Hampshire’s premier retail destination’, Festival Place, which has 165 shops, over 30 restaurants, bars and cafés, a 10 screen cinema, a premium nightclub, a state-of-the-art sports centre and even a library. With easy access into some very attractive countryside as well, The Chariots at Augusta Park is the sort of place we’d all love to live.
