Situated within affluent and iconic Wimbledon, Wimbledon Hill Park is set to become a landmark development. A collection of prestigious new executive homes will be joined by a choice of exclusive apartments situated in the sensitively restored Victorian architecture of the Atkinson Morley Hospital building and its stunning grounds.
Steeped in History Wimbledon Hill Park’s site has a long and distinguished history and once formed a part of the Duke of Wellington’s estate. Over 125 years ago, a wealthy hotel proprietor named Atkinson Morley left £150,000 in his will to fund a new hospital. Following his death in 1858, leafy Copse Hill was selected as the ideal location for the Atkinson Morley Hospital.
After being repurposed the hospital went on to become an internationally renowned neuroscience centre in the late 1940s and was the first institution to use a CT scanner to scan a patient. The NHS relocated its services to St George’s Hospital, Tooting in 2003 and the building lay dormant until the site was bought by the Berkeley Group in 2010.
The hospital later treated injured heroes from both World Wars. Surrounded by sweeps of wild grass and wooded areas, its tranquil atmosphere provided an excellent place for soldiers to recuperate.
Reimagined as Wimbledon Hill Park, the old Atkinson Morley building and its grounds will be given a new lease of life including a stunning collection of high specification apartments and luxurious family homes.

Live life to the full At Wimbledon Hill Park, the extensive grounds provide the location for a wealth of communal features. For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits or simply relaxing in attractive surroundings, the carefully maintained ecology areas and woodland offer space, wildlife walks and fresh air. Yet the development is also a stone’s throw away from the centre of London, where the very best of world culture, dining, shopping and entertainment can be found. Commutes to the capital are short with excellent transport links by road and rail and of course Wimbledon Village and Wimbledon town centre are only minutes away.
Ecology Area and Natural Woodland While parts of the grounds are to be landscaped, creating artfully manicured gardens, others will be preserved as ecological areas and much of the established natural woodland will be retained, providing the perfect surroundings for local wildlife to thrive.
“It’s a very nostalgic place. I’ve had a love affair with Wimbledon ever since I can remember. It stays with you.” Fred Perry, championship-winning tennis player
