History

There are several excellent golf clubs close to Baston including Toft Country House Hotel and Golf Club just a few miles away.

Burghley House in Stamford was built and mostly designed by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 and 1587. Visitors can enjoy the Orangery restaurant, gift shop, gardens and beautiful walks around the historic parkland still occupied by a herd of fallow deer.

Tallington Lakes Leisure Centre offers 205 acres of clean, calm, spring fed water for water-skiing, wakeboarding, tube riding, jet skiing, windsurfing, dinghy sailing or canoeing. Surrounded mostly by mature trees and pleasant countryside, Tallington Lakes also has a 120 metre dry ski slope, restaurant, bar, terrace and barbeque area overlooking the main lake, 15 metre climbing tower, children’s adventure playground, tennis court, high quality permanently sited mobile homes and luxury lodges, camping and caravanning pitches and much more.
