SOMETHING DIFFERENT As a popular tourist centre, Bideford has plenty to offer for all the family, with a wealth of exciting and original attractions including Dartington Crystal and Milky Way Adventure Park. For a more relaxing day out, take the ferry from Bideford Quay to Lundy Island, 22 miles away in the Bristol Channel, and enjoy the beauty of this natural wilderness. Alternatively, take a leisurely evening river cruise along the River Torridge and watch the world go by as you sip a glass of wine on deck.

The town is well served by local buses, and trains from Barnstaple take around an hour to Exeter, where you can connect to London trains taking around 1hr and 20 minutes.

SPORT & LEISURE Bideford golfers will be spoiled for choice, with two of Britain’s finest links courses right on their doorstep, at Royal North Devon ’the St Andrews of England’ and at Saunton. A wide range of other sports can also be found at Victoria Park Swimming Pool and Torridge Leisure Centre.

For outdoor pursuits, the choice is even bigger, with miles of superb beaches and climbing cliffs along the North Devon Coast, plus the wilds of Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks both within easy reach.
