Fremington is an old village about 3 miles west of Barnstaple. It is a very peaceful place with the picturesque Fremington Quay overlooking the Taw Estuary, where visitors and residents sit and relax, fish, cycle, walk or explore the small creek known as Fremington Pill with it's moored boats. Instow Village is to the South west of Fremington just 3.5 miles away on the coast and, if the tide is out, has a long stretch of golden sands.
Fremington has a couple of pubs and a handful of independent retail shops. This pretty North Devon coastal town is well situated for road, rail, air and sea links to local, national and international destinations. For the motorist, the A39, A377 and A361 are all a short drive away, the latter leading to Junction 27 of the M5. Fremington is 3 miles south of Barnstaple on the B3233 and has been the major market for North Devon since Saxon times and has a fantastic combination of high fashion and big city brands with local specialist, arts and crafts plus the local markets. The High Street has a great selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes. There's a railway station which offers regular services throughout the region. Also, Exeter Airport is around 40 miles away.
