The superb Rutland Water reservoir and nature reserve, with its international reputation for sailing, fishing and bird watching, is only around 11 miles away.

Leave Nottingham city centre by the A52 heading south-east, and, at the Edwalton island, take the third exit to join the A606, following signs for Melton Mowbray and Oakham. Leave Leicester city centre by the A6 heading north. Stay on the A6 through the junction with the A563, and, at the next roundabout, take the third exit to join the A46 heading eastwards.
