Culturally Speaking Workshop

On Tuesday 18th June, we took part in a 'Culturally Speaking' workshop. This was designed to consolidate our learning from visiting the Charles Dickens Museum and to develop our speech delivery skills. We were praised for delivering passionate and confident speeches and we all received certificates for taking part The following students were highlighted for giving exceptional speeches (pictured left to right): Mehraj 10B, Adrian 10Y, Assavir 10O, Mohamud 10R, Cedric 10E, Leon 10O and Shaun 10B. A very special shout out goes to Cedric who has been invited to take part in a showcase, where he will deliver his outstanding speech at Westminster Abbey We would like to thank the workshop facilitator, Ms Pollet, for delivering an engaging session with lots of enthusiasm and encouragement. Her session has made more confident public speakers and we are thankful for her time " - written by 10xyEn4

Health Awareness Week

Born4Sport organised and delivered a fantastic week of physical activities for our Health Awareness Week 2024. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to develop their physical and mental health through team and individual sports.

Highlights were the boxing sessions where all students took on the challenging tasks and physical demands of the sport. The other sports included football, handball, netball and indoor hockey. The students were exhausted at the end of the day and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, especially working as a team.

Physical, emotional and mental wellbeing are so important and we need to continue to find ways to build these into our everyday lives. At Rokeby, we will continue to offer our students opportunities to be healthier, more resilient young men who look after themselves and those around them
