Y9 Options Evenings

Thank you to everyone who showed up on a very cold January evening to support our students. It really was an incredible turn out.

The Y9 options process is a vital step for all students as they move into Y10 These choices will influence which options are available after Y11 in terms of further study and career pathways. It is really important that students choose subjects for the correct reasons. The booklet has been shared with all Y9 students and there is additional information available on our websitehttps://rokeby.ncltrust.net/curriculum/year-9options/

Parents and carers are encouraged to spend time with their children researching which subjects they enjoy doing and what keeps them interested and motivated Students will also need to think about which subjects will offer them the further study pathways and career options they wish to pursue

If you have any questions, please email Mr Uddin.

Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année 2025!

We received our Christmas cards from students at Collège Guy Mollet, in Lille. Some of our Year 10 students will be travelling to France in February to meet them. Ça va être génial!

Year 8 Pencil box

Year 8 students have been working with hand tools and machines to design and make pencil boxes They have learnt about wood joints and how a joint can impact the structure of a pencil box. Students were presented with the challenge: can your designs be decorative and based on Yinka Ilori’s work? Here are some of the results.

Year 9 Trainer prototype

Space How can Space inspire footwear? What influences has space on the fashion industry? How can textiles be included in footwear design? Year 9 students created a trainer prototype from scrap material to challenge their modelling skills. Have a look at some of the results.

Congratulations to our Y10 football team for their phenomenal performance against Royal Docks Academy securing a late victory to take the 3-2 win. An electric performance from captain and player of the match Dominic Arthur caused havoc for the Royal Docks, whilst Adil Khaksar and Rildwan Oladosu controlled the spine of the team

Special mention to goal scorers; Abdulmarteen Omidiji, Best Iyawe, Rildwan Oladosu and Morse’s Magician Abdul Wahab for his solid performance in his first full appearance for the team.
