The event aimed to inspire and empoweryoungwomenfromYear5,providingthemwithpositive role models, building confidence, and fostering connections as theyprepareforthetransitiontosecondaryschool.

Girls from Star, Portway, Gainsborough, Stratford Manor, St Lukes, and Selwyn primary schools joined their peers at Eastlea for the day.
They learned valuable tools for self-expression in "How to be Assertive and Get Your Voice Heard", unleashed their creativity in the badge-making workshop, and even discovered the powerofmovementthroughafunandenergeticcapoeirasessionwithMsAnderson.
The day delved into inspiring stories of female achievements with workshops like "Herstory: Amazing Women in History," showcasing the diverse contributions of women throughout history.Totopitalloff, thegirlsbeltedoutArethaFranklin'sempoweringanthem"Respect"in aspecialsinginglesson, leavingthemfeelingreadytotakeontheworld.
This collaborative event proved to be a resounding success. The girls not only gained valuable skills and knowledge but also forged new friendships and built a sense of community. The smiles on their faces as they left Eastlea were a testament to the positive impact of the "Girls of the World" initiative, leaving a lasting impression as they embark on their next chapter in secondaryschool.

It’s time for the government to take action! We need more training for teachers, early identification and early intervention, and a real commitment to making education accessibleforall.
