Stephen Timms, MP, visit to NCL Schools

On Friday, 22nd November, NCL Trust was honoured to host MP Stephen Timms at Rokeby School. He engaged with students from across the Trust discussing key issues like congestion, crime, inflation, housing and homelessness, immigration, education, and the need for cleaner and safer streets in a Q & A session. It was a truly inspiring session for our students who are pictured above with Mr Timms.

Year 11 Mocks
Year 11 Mock examinations will run from Monday 9th to Thursday 19th December. A letter with more details and a timetable can be found here. Students will be receiving an individualised timetable next week informing them of their seat number for each exam. It is important that your child attends school everyday so they can prepare for these exams. Parents/ carers can help students prepare for the exams by making sure they get enough sleep and that they have the equipment they need. Results for the exams will be shared with students and parents in January although some results may be visible on Go4Schools before this.

Year 11 Workplace Visits

As part of our careers programme at Eastlea, all students get an opportunity to experience a workplace environment. We ensure that all students get to select which industry they are interested in and they then went off to different trips over the course of September andOctober. Our students were fortunate to visit Octopus Energy, Alexandra Palace, Shaftesbury Theatre, Linklaters Law Firm, and the Tate & Lyle Factory. Throughout these visits, our students were able to learn more about the range of jobs available in each industry, what it takes to get a job there, and developed their soft employability skills through a range of different jobs, tasks and discussions. We really enjoyed the opportunity given to our Year 11 students and look forwardto the Year 10s experiencing similar visits towards the latter part of the year. There are more photographs overleaf.

Is free Is painless, quick and effective. We also offer the flu vaccine as an injection, which is gelatine free. This may also be the vaccine of choice for vegans. Please go to our website (link below)where you can find out more about the manufacturing of the flu injection, and then decide if the injection is more suited to your child. Your consent will remain in place for the entire flu season. If your child misses a first visit, you do not need to complete a second form. PLEASE NOTE the flu vaccine will NOT be available to otherwise healthy children after December 15th at all, and so we urge you to return the consent form as soon as possible in case we are not able to visit your child;s schools for a second visit this year.
You only need to complete one consent form for each child. If you later change your mind, please call your local team. If your child has this immunisation elsewhere after you have submitted the consent form, you MUST inform Vaccination UK rather than the school. You can also find informational videos on our YouTube channel, including subtitled versions for other languages. We understand that you may have questions about the vaccine. For more information, please go to our website, where you can find a list of FAQ’s, as well as details of our community catch up clinics.
