Eastlea Community School played Rokeby School in a tense affair and there was every reason for both schools to give their all in this match. Eastlea wanting revenge from an embarrassing defeat to Rokeby in the first indoor friendly back in November and Rokeby wanting to continue to be the winning waysaslocalrivalteams.
Eastlea took regular wickets with captain Mustafa picking up 2 wickets, Altaf, Rayaan and Dyhan reducing Rokeby to69runs.
Rokeby struck back early with the key wickets of Captain Mustafa, Altaf and Awais all gettingbowledinsinglefiguresbyaveryimpressivefastbowler.
In came Rayaan and Muhammad Patel who got Eastlea close but the impressive bowling by Rokeby Off Spinner took the wicket of Patel with Rayaan forced to hit out in the last 2 overschasing12inthelastover.
A close match and with many of the Eastlea players representing from years 7 8 and 9 comparedtoaRokebyteamfilledwithyear11sthegapisclosingandRokebyschoolknow thatEastleaareaschoolthatarefastimprovingandclosingthegap. ArematchhasbeenagreedtoaftertheMayHalftermsotheschoolsbattleagain.
