Young Voices It was the best night of my life” said Ciaran Chambers(5S), “fabulous” said Emily Conrad (5S) and “sensational” was the collective view of 5S, as they spoke enthusiastically about the Chamber Choir’s trip to the O2 Arena for the Young Voices concert on Monday. The Choir took part in a massed choir of a thousand voices, together with other schools from the South and South East of England. They were backed by an excellent band of musicians and sang together with other amazing artists, including the African Children’s Choir and Connie Talbot. The African Children’s Choir enthralled the audience with their singing, dancing and drumming, and sang, with the Young Voices choir, their signature tune ‘Sing!’ which they performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert last year. Connie Talbot treated us to several solos and the children then joined voices with her for ‘Let It Be’. Connie is the youngest pop artist at the age of 11, having come second in Britain’s Got Talent. Dancing was provided by Urban Strides Dance Crew and the night ended with all the artists on stage. It was a thoroughly memorable experience for participants and audience alike and also raised funds for a charity helping to inspire and motivate deprived children through music and singing.
