Welcome

I’d like to take the opportunity of personally welcoming you to the show today for what I hope will be a truly inspiring and worthwhile day out from your business.

We have a fantastic show on offer for you with over 110 premium brands showcasing the very latest innovative equipment, alongside a superb line-up of 40+ expert speakers in our multistreamed talks programme, endless demonstrations, tastings, competitions and much more.

One of my favourite things about Caffè Culture is bringing our fantastic industry together to share ideas, build new relationships, learn about the latest trends whilst reacquainting yourselves with old friends and colleagues for two busy days of invaluable networking.

As a tradition, we like to add new feature content to the event, so this year sees the launch of Total Coffee – a brand-new talks programme curated by United Baristas Founder Tim Ridley as well as two

new Marco Brew Bars for you to experience and the inaugural World Coffee Innovation Awards. We welcome new equipment partners Rocket Espresso and Markibar to the Roasters' Zone and have the fully immersive Victoria Arduino Experience taking centre stage at the show. But that’s not all. We’re delighted to welcome back Sucafina Specialty as our Roasters' Forum partner and ESTA in the speciality tea hub, who have both redesigned their programme formats to ensure you get a much higher level of engagement.

Lastly, I wanted to personally thank all our sponsors, exhibitors and media partners for their support over the past year, which once again has been a challenging one. Without their support, we would not be able to put on such a good event for you, so it’s very much appreciated.

We hope you enjoy the show.

Brew bars with a twist

Elevate your coffee experience at Marco’s hot and cold brew bars at Caffè Culture

Marco will be bringing two unique brew bars to Caffè Culture 2023: one focused on premium filter coffee, and the second on cold beverages. The SP9 brew bar will feature the iconic SP9 precision pour-over system, used in some of the best coffee shops around the world. Coffee roasters will have the opportunity to brew on the SP9 and showcase their delicious coffee for guests. But it doesn’t stop there. For cold brew lovers, Caffè Culture will also feature the Marco ColdBRUbeverage bar, where cold coffee will be brewed and served on site from Marco’s new ColdBRU system that delivers coffee concentrate in under two hours.

Marco invites roasters to bring pre-ground coffee and dial in their recipes on the ColdBRU to create their individual cold coffees. Finally, for those looking for a refreshing twist, we will also have a range of cold and sparkling flavoured beverages. All these delicious cold drinks will be served from the POUR’D – winner of the Best New Product at SCA 2023.

As an added bonus, indulge in delightful baked treats from TurboChef that perfectly complement the beverage experience.

This year, we are bringing the brew bars to a new place and we want them to be as interactive as possible! Coffee roasters and baristas can come and get their hands on the beloved SP9 and we also invite you to bring your own pre-ground coffee and experience the power of the Marco ColdBRU.

Empowering the next generation

Baristas are often focused on developing their hard skills, like making espresso, and soft skills such as interacting with customers. We start day two by exploring ways the coffee community can harness the power of training and competitions to better encourage career development. This session is well-suited for employers and managers as well as people working in coffee.

What skills actually pay the bills?

What are thinking skills? And how do people learn them? United Baristas founder Tim Ridley explains why the coffee community should focus on developing thinking skills. It’ll boost productivity, increase retention and help make work more fulfilling.

Gaining skills and raising your profile

Coffee competitions require both commitment and training. Plus judges’ feedback creates opportunities to both further develop skills and to learn how to overcome obstacles. Barista Champion Josh Tarlo explains how competing taught him skills and raised his community profile.

Offering work ready support and training to veterans through a Barista and roasting programme of training.

Providing positive outcomes for prisoners and ex-offenders with our prison Barista training and café programme and day release café opportunities.

Campaigning and raising awareness of veteran mental health issues and promoting the armed forces covenant to partners and businesses.
