THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW WEDDING PL ANNING

Expert opinion

Where to start You’re engaged! Yay! But now what? Editor of Tie the Knot Scotland, Beth Forsyth, sets out four things to consider before the big day

THE FUND-AMENTAL BASICS We hate to be unromantic about things, but money makes the wedding world go round. How much you are willing and able to spend on your big (or little) day will shape every single wedding-planning decision you make. Before you blow a chunk of cash on an extravagant

venue or bougie vendor without a second thought, you and your other half should have a chat to make sure you’re on the same page with your proposed financial commitment to your plans and, importantly, exactly how you’re going to fund them without racking up debt. Maybe you’re already sitting on a nice little nest egg? Perhaps you’re willing to have a longer engagement to allow you to save up? Might family members be willing to contribute? And, if so, does that come with any ‘strings’ attached? If your ideas on your would-be budget are wildly different at this stage, you’ll get to practise something that will come in very handy for the rest of your lives together: compromise!

IF YOUR NAME’S NOT DOWN... The guest list is one area you’ll almost certainly have to make trade-offs in, especially if you have greatly different family sizes, or one of you has legions of friends that you want to be there. At this point – assuming you don’t want to elope – you and your partner should jot down every single person that you might like to invite, including plus-ones and children where appropriate, then divvy them up in order of priority: your non-negotiable A-listers,

10 thescottishweddingshow.com

would-be-nice-if-they-could-be-there B-listers and mibbies-aye-mibbies-naw C-listers. Having your headcount split up into groups like this will help you have a bit of flexibility if you fall in love with a venue that’s smaller than you imagined, for instance. It’s worth thinking about who you’d like to have as your bridal party too, bearing in mind that there are often other ways to include friends and family in your plans than just the ‘standard roles’ – by doing readings for example – and that the bigger its size, the more costly it could be for you when it comes to outfits and so on.

IT’S (ALMOST) A DATE Get the calendar out and earmark the time of year you’d potentially like to have your wedding. During peak wedding season at popular wedding venues, weekend dates can be hard to come by and are often booked up years in advance, as are in-demand suppliers. If getting married on a Saturday in July is one of your ‘must-haves’, the longer wait for your date might work in your favour and allow you the time to save for the day of your dreams. However, if you’re itching to ‘make it official’ ASAP, or would like to have a wider selection of vendors to cherry-pick from, it’s worth thinking about getting hitched during the week or at quieter times of the

year. Who knows, you might even be able to blag a discount or booking incentive for doing the deed off-season. And getting married on a Tuesday is certainly one way to cut the chaff from the guest list.

STYLE AND SUBSTANCE If you’re one of those people who has curated a wedding Pinterest board for years, rejoice – you can finally let it see the light of day. If not, now’s the time to start scrolling on social media and looking through wedding magazines and blogs. Start gathering and saving images and inspiration that resonate with you. Having these visual indicators of your style will help you narrow down your search for venues and suppliers and communicating your vision with them. You should also identify what your priorities are to help you allocate your budget. If you’ve always dreamt of a couture gown for example, is there another area that you could claw back spending on that’s not as important to you? Or maybe you’re both massive foodies that want to go all-out serving a street-food smorgasbord for your guests? Is there anywhere you can free up funds from to allow you to do that? Now… go forth, look for venues and enjoy every single moment of planning! tietheknot.scot

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW CHOOSING A VENUE

A SENSE OF PLACE

Wondering where to say I do? We’ll help you to decide on a venue that’s right for you...

Castles THE HISTORY AND THE ROMANCE A magnificent Scottish castle, steeped in history, has to be the ultimate statement venue and backdrop for tying the knot. There are hundreds of castles in Scotland, most offering a civil service for couples wanting to make the most of this fairytale setting. Don’t be put off if you’re wanting a modest wedding – lots of castle venues can accommodate small and large wedding parties. The interior of an ancient castle can be warm, welcoming and rustic, or incredibly opulent, with grand staircases, gorgeous antiques and dazzling chandeliers. Offering picturesque rooms for ceremonies and receptions, some castles also have impressive medieval dining halls to accommodate the wedding breakfast, as well as comfortable lounge areas for guests to relax. It goes without saying that the photo opportunities against the resplendent backdrop offered by an ancient castle are incredible, as are the precious memories that you and your guests will cherish for many years to come...

Wedding venues

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW CHOOSING A VENUE

Hotel weddings SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE Hotels are always a favourite due the convenience of having accommodation on site for the wedding party and guests. A dedicated wedding planner will also be on hand to help couples plan every little detail so that nothing is left to chance, meaning that they are free to relax and enjoy themselves. Hotels will also offer the food choices you want, and many hotels will use locally sourced, seasonal produce, resulting in delicious fare that’s also sustainable. Another nicety of a hotel wedding venue is that it extends the celebrations into the following day, when overnight guests can catch up with the newlyweds and family members over breakfast and maybe lunch, before taking their leave. Guests can also amuse themselves with a plethora of things to do, including beauty treatments in the spa, gym sessions or a swim in the pool. Couples may choose to go all-inclusive with a package to suit their budget. Those opting for a civil ceremony will eliminate the need to ferry their guests from church venues – it’s a great one-stop shop, headache-free option. And then there are the beautiful grounds surrounded by the stunning Scottish landscape, the quintessential backdrop for your nuptials.

Backyard weddings HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS Just because your wedding is being held at your home (or someone else’s!), it doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. Backyard weddings can be wonderfully sentimental and fantastic fun! Creative types will have a ball transforming their outside space into the venue best suited to their taste or theme. Depending on the space available, you could opt for a marquee, a life saver if the weather turns bad. And when adorned with hundreds of twinkling fairy lights, flowers and decorations, it will instantly become a magical venue, completely bespoke. Savings can be made by using homegrown blooms in bouquets and centrepieces – use glass jars, succulents and pebbles. Let your imagination run free! It’s important to take your guests’ comfort into account by making sure there’s enough seating and dining space for everyone, but keep it green and lower your carbon footprint by using local companies for food and drink, furniture hire and decorations, etc. A backyard wedding is ideal for those on a low budget or couples wanting a smaller, more intimate wedding in the comfort of their own home!

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW CHOOSING A VENUE

Barn weddings YOUR WEDDING, YOUR WAY These are increasingly popular, the main reason being that a barn can be completely transformed into whatever you like. Of course, you can have a rustic theme in the beautiful Scottish countryside with views that need no adornment. But you can also dress a barn with drapes, clever lighting, flower arrangements and furnishings for an opulent effect that wouldn’t look out of place in an exquisite hotel ballroom. Anything is possible. And if remoteness is a concern, you needn’t worry, because there are lots of barns within half an hour’s drive of Edinburgh. Many farming estates also offer accommodation – from cosy cottages to trendy yurts, so you and your guests will be spoilt for choice! And the same applies to catering, whether it’s a crowd-pleasing hog roast served informally or a five-course sit-down feast, wedding parties, large and small, can be catered for in style and to suit all budgets. And talking of costs, another plus for a barn venue is that the couple, along with their friends and family, can help with the preparations, including decorations and catering, to save money along the way.

14 thescottishweddingshow.com

Shoreline splendour IN LUXURIOUS SECLUSION Set on the west side of the breathtaking Isle of Arran, The Dougarie Boathouse is a fully renovated, Grade II-listed wedding venue with beautiful views over the Kilbrannan Sound towards the Mull of Kintyre. It has a licence for civil ceremonies and gives couples the opportunity to have the ultimate Scottish island wedding. Just a 45-minute drive from Glasgow, followed by a leisurely ferry ride from Ardrossan, The Dougarie Boathouse is in a secluded shoreline spot, offering couples complete privacy with captivating views and incredible photo opportunities. Could there be a more romantic and magical setting for a Scottish wedding?

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW WEDDING THEMES

Themes

A THEME COME TRUE How do you want your dream wedding to look? Here are some ideas to inspire you…

A pop of pattern From the wedding invitations to table linens, having a patterned print as part of your decor can elevate the look and feel of your big day and bring in a splash of fun and creativity. From classic florals to chic geometric designs – and even bold, retro prints – the possibilities are endless…

Seated wedding parties For 2024, comfort is key during the ceremony! Where the bridesmaids and groomsmen used to stay standing throughout, having them sit down may be a small change, but it will make a world of difference – especially on hot days or for those who may need it!

High-impact florals Florals have always played a crucial part in weddings, but in 2024, they’re taking centre stage like never before! Bigger isn’t always better – high impact could also mean vibrant colours, unusual species or even unexpected elements, such as metallic accents. It may come down to how you arrange and display your flowers, for example, as an archway at the entrance to your reception – creating a fantastically floral first impression.

Tropical paradise

Retro revival

There are many ways you can get a taste for the tropics on your big day. From cocktails served in coconuts or coconut in your cake, to piña coladas and pineapple centrepieces. Or, if those flavours don’t take your fancy, the use of flowers and favours can transport your guests to paradise instead – orchid centrepieces and palm-tree bottle openers, perhaps?

Bring nostalgia to your nuptials with this trend, where the theme celebrates the style of decades past. Pick your favourite era – are you energised by the swinging 60s, the groovy 70s or flashy 80s? – and let it inspire your decor. Vinyl records could make for unique – and personalisable – place settings while neon signage and classic cars could make for iconic photo opportunities.

SMALL DETAILS, BIG IMPACT It could be pops of colour from a floral arrangement or shimmering sparkle from a light fixture – little touches leave lasting impressions!

Ethereal garden

Celestial inspired

For those after a dreamy and romantic ambiance on their big day, an ethereal garden theme is a great avenue to explore. Envision the enchanting atmosphere that lush greenery, cascading flowers and soft lighting could create. Not to mention the picture-perfect moment of exchanging your vows beneath a breathtaking floral arch.

Covering everything from decor – including strings of fairy lights framing the venue, naming tables after constellations and a dreamy, sky-inspired backdrop making your sweetheart table the star of the show – to your own body, with embellishments such as star-shaped earrings and a bridal cape adorned with moon and star symbols. The sky really is the limit with this theme! You could even leave your guests starstruck by an astrological cake design and end the night with a bang by having your wedding party wave sparklers while you star-crossed lovers make a grand exit.

thescottishweddingshow.com 17

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW WEDDING THEMES

Modern industrial For a theme that combines both contemporary and rustic elements, this trend is perfect. Raw meets refined, and exposed brick meets sleek metals. Embrace clean lines and minimalist decor. Great venue choices include an urban loft or converted warehouse.

Whimsical wonderland

TASTEFUL TWEAKING If you have a theme you want to convey, but still want to do so in a classy way, choose a select few key features and sprinkle them throughout your space.

Transport your guests to a magical realm filled with fairytaleinspired features. How about an Alice in Wonderland-inspired wedding? Add decals of your favourite characters to invitations or your cake design, write your seating plan on a ‘magic’ mirror, or have tea party tablescapes.

18 thescottishweddingshow.com

Opulent glamour Fabrics, textures and glitz galore! If you’re looking to bring some extravagance to your big day, this trend – which exudes luxury and sophistication through the use of rich colours and ornate details – will fulfil your desires. Think grand ballroom – with crystal chandeliers hanging from high ceilings, bouquets blooming with an abundance of flowers, and luxe touches made from lavish materials such as velvet, leather and silk.

DRESS TO IMPRESS

Wedding fashion

Be the belle of the ball on your big day in a gown with wow factor

Structures and silhouettes

We’re talking contemporary cuts such as illusion corsets, dropped-waist silhouettes and lace necklines. Right now corsets are in with a modern spin. Instead of being secret shapewear beneath silk and crepe, the boning of today’s corsets can be seen between the sheer side panels of a bride’s gown, showing off her shape with a sexy edge. This illusion of a centuries-old cut looks both romantic atop the beautiful gown and creates a dazzling silhouette. Dropped-waist gowns are another vintage-inspired style whereby the top of the dress hugs your torso and hips, before flaring into a full skirt. And neck lace is in – displaying your décolletage to dramatic effect.

20 thescottishweddingshow.com

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW THE LOOK OF SCOTL AND

Black and gold

Like its traditional white counterpart, a black or blueblack wedding dress still showcases the intricacies of lace, works well with illusion corsets and suits a voluminous skirt – and delivers on drama. You can still get that bridal feeling with your gown through classic silhouettes such as a mermaid-style and sweetheart necklines, but the unexpected element of the colour adds something different. So, for a bride looking to make a grand entrance, this trend has it all. Whether it’s block colour or hints and hues, gold gowns are also gaining momentum on the bridal scene for 2024 – making you feel like a queen on your big day. Pops of colour in pastel blends are popular, too – specifically lavender, baby blue, blush and mint – with botanical prints.

DETACHABLE DRESSES We've had detachable skirts, but now designers are dialling it up – bringing elements such as detachable straps and sleeves into the mix. This offers exciting and versatile options with your bridal gown, enabling you to change things up between ceremony and reception.

Short lengths, longlasting impacts

The mini-length wedding dress is making a huge impact for 2024! The mini is perfect for modern brides looking to cut away from the more traditional aesthetic. From softer boho designs to fitted corseted designer choices, the possibilities are endless. Check out our catwalk showcase for inspiration! Midi-length and tea-length hemlines are also a hot trend. Shorter dresses can be sophisticated and fun when adorned with florals and feathers to bring a feminine dimension to your attire.

FLORAL FORWARD Flower-influenced fashion is growing in favour. Beyond just the colour gradient of your gown, floral appliqués are also being added, as well as three-dimensional details such as flowers and vines that will bring your dress to life with architectural drama.

22 thescottishweddingshow.com

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW THE LOOK OF SCOTL AND

ACCESSO-RISING TRENDS The right accessories will frame your look to perfection for maximum impact

Big hats and blushing veils

A standout style this season is veils with a blush tint. Trims, such as 3D flowers, add another clever twist. On the other hand, an alternative to the wedding veil for 2024, is oversized hats. From cream-coloured and floppy to woven with a wide brim, this trend may not be for everyone, but it’s an ideal choice for a destination wedding or those after a larger-than-life look.

Shoe know it!

There is certainly a movement towards comfort and wearability beyond the big day. A pair of crystal-encrusted, satin pumps is great, but when will you ever get to wear them again? That’s not to say that our leading ladies don’t want a stunning pair of shoes – they just need to work with other outfits. Platforms are popular, metallics are making the cut and block heels also have a following.

Big up the bolero

The wedding look making waves nowadays is the chic and sophisticated bolero jacket. Its high neckline begs to be paired with a pulled-back hairstyle and refined and feminine gown, creating a fabulously romantic aesthetic.

Abstract arrangements

Couples are opting for more unique bouquets, featuring asymmetric shapes and unexpected elements – such as herbs, succulents and wildflowers – that intertwine in a gloriously unconventional and natural display.

Ring it up MADE, NOT MINED Eco-friendly engagement rings are right on trend. Couples are increasingly considering features such as ethically sourced gemstones, lab-grown diamonds and recycled precious metals.

DOUBLE-BANDED A fresh choice today is the doublebanded engagement ring. Building on the trend of stacking bands that we see in everyday fashion, this style offers a new level of uniqueness – whereby dual bands are positioned with a distinctive gap between them, creating the illusion of a floating centre stone. While it has a less traditional feel, it still definitely makes a statement!

CATHEDRAL SET Celebrated for its resemblance to the arches of ancient cathedrals, this dreamy engagement ring is perfect for the brideto-be who loves tradition! The elevated setting of this style has a centre stone surrounded by metal arches that rise from the band and hold the stone in place, providing a distinctive profile and giving the underside an almost basket-like appearance.

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW FOR THE GROOM

Groom room

GET INTO GROOM GEAR Style ideas for the man of the moment…

Best foot forward

Well-suited The slim-fit suit has been a popular fashion choice in recent years and it’s no wonder, given that a well-made and well-tailored suit can make you stand out and do wonders for your self-confidence! Thinking of wearing a kilt? Adorn it with a sporran and a silver kilt pin (a must for windy days!) and long kilt socks held in place with a garter flash and sgian-dubh dagger. Set your Scottish wedding outfit off to perfection with a wasitcoat and an elegant Crail jacket.

The crazy socks craze may have come and gone. Guys are instead going for more neutral, single-colour socks – paired with sharp, leather lace-up shoes for a formal look, or loafers (with or without socks) for a more casual style. ECO FABRICS In 2024, we’ll see more suits made from eco-friendly fabrics such as linen and hemp. These lighter layers also make them ideal for a hot summer’s wedding day.

The devil’s in the details… For 2024, it’s all about the finer details and embracing individuality. Using accessories to add impact to the overall look, memorable impressions will be made using patterned or textural ties, or bow ties. Buttonholes and shoes need to tie in to the colour palette while details include engraved cufflinks, monogrammed handkerchiefs and jewellery with sentimental value.

24 thescottishweddingshow.com

Creative with colours Bold colours are big for 2024. Blues, maroons and evergreens are popular and can coordinate with the wedding decor. Pastels work well for a spring or summer celebration. Complete the look with a coordinating tie or pocket square in a complementary colour – the mix-and-match trend that’s popular with bridesmaids is also making its move into groomswear.

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW EXTREME WEDDINGS

Hen do

Do it your way Get ready to party with your besties with our round-up of the latest hen and stag do trends

SOBER STAGS & HENS

STEN DOS & FOX PARTIES

Moving away from the notorious reputation of hen parties being full of fizz, brides-to-be are becoming increasingly focused on wellness in preparation for their weddings – think yoga, dance classes and mocktail making.

Combining both the stag and hen means the nearly-weds can celebrate together in one big bash – perfect if you’ve a very overlapping friendship group. For those who are non-binary and gender non-conforming, fox parties are the gender-neutral term.

MICRO DOS

NIGHTS IN

With the pandemic leading to a stratospheric rise in their popularity, we’ve all heard of the small-scale celebration that is a micro-wedding. In a similar fashion, this is translating to hen and stag dos, with brides and grooms-to-be celebrating with just a few of their family and friends, rather than a huge group. And with searches for ‘small hen do’ seeing an increase of 215% over the past year, this is now, more than ever, about making up for lost time, and is set to be a big trend.

There’s no need to splash out – or even go out – to celebrate. With the rise in party pads, people are more inclined to enjoy the comfort of indoors – instead buying in food, drinks and games to save forking out a fortune on cocktails and cabs.

GROUPWEAR While for some the parties might be getting smaller, for others the groupwear is getting bigger – or wilder, at least! Although the groupwear trend may have been around for a while, it is now going beyond the basic stag t-shirt to more brash and outlandish outfits, including everything from themed costumes – such as Baywatch or Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers – to morphsuits and animal onesies.

ACTIVITY-BASED PARTIES With the emphasis on spending quality time with friends and family more important than ever post-pandemic, we are likely to see many more hen and stag dos centred around activities – with popular choices including life drawing for hens and bubble football for stags.

CELEBRITY GUESTS Sparked by websites such as Cameo, celebrity appearances – either via video messages or even in-person, with some companies offering bookable celebrity packages – are an emerging trend increasing in popularity.

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW BEAUTIFUL TOUCHES

GLAM SQUAD

Wedding looks

From traditional ways to more modern methods, we reveal how to look your best for the big day

Hair

BRAIDS Having your hair expertly braided will ease the stress of worrying about humidity on the big day. Braids come in different forms that suit most hair lengths and are beautiful when adorned with tiny pearls, flowers and ribbon. Afro hair is great to work with and if you want you can achieve almost any look by adding weaves and extensions. A silk press will work with your waves and can be styled with tongs on the day. CROPPED STYLES Bold and beautiful is the magic of this low-maintenance style that’s bang on trend. Most of the preparation will go into getting your hair into the best condition in the weeks running up to your big day and oiling hair daily will keep it hydrated. A magic curl brush sponge and a good curling wax or gel will perfect the look. LOOSE CURLS The more natural loose curl is right on trend – not least because of its versatility. This effortless bohemian look can create a timeless style. For a soft and romantic style, natural, weightless waves and undone textures secured into soft, low buns continue to be a huge trend into 2024.

28 thescottishweddingshow.com

ACCESSORIES Specialists such as Baba-C Designs or Alexandra Bespoke have a great range of bridal accessories to adorn your wedding hair. There’s the classic clip or hairband, maybe make a statement with a crown, or you can even personalise other pieces with bespoke embroidery – including details such as dates and initials on scarves, bows, veils, gloves and more. Elegant hair accessories and hair jewels will give your wedding updo the wow factor. Afro and curly hair will work well with a twist or a plait to create the updo using your hair’s natural texture to add dimension to the style.

THE SCOT TISH WEDDING SHOW THE LOOK OF SCOTL AND

Make-up

PURE The emphasis this season is on a fresh and luminous complexion, with highlighter on the cheekbones to create a subtle ‘dewy’ look, and dense brows for a confident eye. GET THAT GLOW The overall make-up look for this year is glowing skin – embracing the soft and velvety ‘cloud skin’ trend. This versatile technique is a perfect balance of radiant and matte skin, and brings an airbrushed quality to this beautiful bridal look. BLUSHING BRIDES Blush is big, from pastel pinks to pops of purple (a bold choice that blew up on social media) to blush draping that applies a skin tint to the top of the cheekbones and sweeps colour down the cheek in gradual degrees of intensity. Cream blushes are a great choice for wedding make-up, as they give the skin a fresh and healthy finish.

Treatments

HYDRAFACIALS While make-

up is an essential tool for creating a beautiful look for your wedding day, make-up artists says that we have moved into a skincare-focused era and that finding the ideal routine for your skin is the best way to establish the optimum base for your wedding face. And one of the biggest trends in pre-wedding prep is hydrafacials. Delivered by a trained therapist and designed to tackle everything from pigmentation and fine lines to clogged pores and blemishes, these are suitable for all skin types and tones, and are a popular choice among both brides and grooms to exfoliate and hydrate skin – bringing a brightening boost ahead of your big day.

FACIAL YOGA Having a similar effect to lymphatic drainage, there are multiple approaches you can take with this treatment to suit a range of budgets – whether doing exercises as a money-free method, using low-cost tools such as jade or rose-quartz rollers, or going higher-end with gadgets.

CROWNING GLORY From crowns, veneers and cosmetic bonding to implants, Invisalign, teeth whitening and more, dental treatments such as those from Haus of Dentistry can offer a makeover to your mouth to ensure you have a picture-perfect smile for walking down the aisle!

VITAMIN DRIPS Popular among celebrities, IV Vitamin Therapy uses carefully formulated blends of vitamins, amino acids and minerals to replenish your vitamin and mineral levels, offering an immune system boost that may be particularly appealing to brides who are feeling a little sleep deprived or stressed during the planning process! So, it may not come as much of a surprise that some professionals can see it becoming an even bigger wellness trend this year.

And relax!

Honeymoon trends 2024 Like the wedding itself, the honeymoon concept keeps on evolving

MANY DIFFERENT ’MOONS

HONEYMOON FUNDS

After the upheaval of recent years, we’re seeing a new type of honeymoon, including everyone from babies to friends. This is the age of family-moons or bestie-moons! And then there’s the ‘duo-moon’, in which couples shoot off for a ‘mini-moon’ straight after the wedding, saving the big trip for up to a year later.

A recent Expedia survey says that couples are 65% more likely to add a honeymoon fund contribution to their wedding gift list, or to make it the only thing on the list. With weddings costing £18,500 on average, and honeymoons £7,500, it’s more affordable for your guests, and they’ll enjoy being part of making your dream trip come true.

WELLNESS HONEYMOONS Another effect of the pandemic years is more couples treating the honeymoon as a restorative retreat, favouring resorts offering locally sourced organic cuisine, detoxing, spa treatments, yoga, meditation and nature-based activities like hiking and kayaking.

RESPONSIBLE & RESPECTFUL In the age of the environmental footprint, honeymooners are thinking about travelling responsibly. Check out ‘volun-tourism’, in which local guides provided by luxury hotels and resorts advise on protecting wildlife, preserving culture, respecting locals and understanding the land, resources and history.

STAYCATION HONEYMOONS You can’t get more environmentally conscious than staying at home, and the UK has some incredible scenery, destinations and five-star luxury to choose from. It’s a growing trend, particularly for second-timers. Hiring a classic car or super-luxury car is a popular extra too.

32 thescottishweddingshow.com

EXPERT HELP We’re used to wedding planners, but increasingly honeymoon planners are an essential too. They have great insight, connections and knowledge, all of which you need if building a unique dream trip in these expensive and complex times.

NEVER-ENDING HONEYMOON With remote working it’s now possible to do your job from anywhere with a decent internet connection. Year-long honeymoon, anyone?

AND WHERE TO GO… Old school white sand/turquoise ocean beach holidays are trending, with the Caribbean, Bahamas, Maldives and Mauritius all high on the list, but European luxury scores highly, with the Amalfi coast and Lake Como topping the poll. But guess what? In fourth place on The Knot’s top 10 list for 2023… was Scotland!
