What to Expect Detox is the process of abstaining from drugs and/or alcohol, and allowing the body time to be rid of these toxic substances so it can begin to repair itself. Detox is necessary when one has been using drugs or alcohol for a such long period of time that they cannot stop using without going through physical withdrawals. Because the withdrawal symptoms can be uncomfortable and even life-threatening, our Medical Director prescribes non-addictive detox medications to help ease these symptoms, and patients are monitored 24/7 by our medical staff.

Life-threatening medical complications can arise during the withdrawal phase when not supervised and treated properly. The Detox program is customized for each individual, and lasts between 5 and 10 days on average.

While Detox helps ween the body off of drug and/or alcohol dependency, it is not treatment. Our dual diagnosis residential treatment programs are the next step in the recovery process where patients can start to heal their mind, spirit and emotions while also learning coping skills necessary to stay sober.

Outpatient Programs IOP

New Dawn’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for drug and alcohol addiction is for individuals who have recently graduated from a Detox or Residential Treatment program. The IOP program is also for moderate users of drugs, alcohol, and/or prescription pills who are not in need of Detox or 24-hour care.

Day Program Day Treatment consists of 6 hours per day group and individual therapy, up to five days per week. This program is designed for those who need additional structure, support, and supervision in order to sustain or stabilize their recovery process.

Individuals who are transitioning from inpatient, Detox or residential treatment can also benefit from the individual and group therapy intensity that this program offers
