Despite its name, New College is one of the oldest of the Oxford colleges, founded in 1379 by William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester.
It is one of the largest and best-known colleges, and undeniably one of the most beautiful.
The three and a half acres of college grounds are spacious and beautiful, including the cloisters (the holm oak featured in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), chapel and impressive 13th century city wall and gardens.
Central Location
If you are looking to hold a residential conference, event or meeting in Oxford city centre then New College is the perfect venue for you.
Situated near the Radcliffe Camera and Bodleian Library in the very heart of the city, New College is ideally located offering access to both facets of Oxford - the beautiful historic buildings which make up the university (to which New College’s architecture certainly contributes), and the city centre’s lively restaurants, bars and attractions.
Oxford has an efficient and reliable public transport service, so the college is easily accessible by rail, coach and bus from London and the rest of the UK, with direct links to Birmingham and London international airports.
