Who am I? Hi all! My name is Jasmine Mokrysz. I’m this year’s LexisNexis Student Associate and I’m a third year Law Student here at Newcastle University.
#1 tip? If there is anything I have learned over my time here at Newcastle it is that EFFICIENCY IS KEY to getting those much sought after 2:1’s and 1sts. My job as your student associate this year is to help you become as efficient as possible on LexisNexis to help aid your studies. It’s my job to ensure you get the most out of LexisNexis and all it has to offer.
So, what is LexisNexis? LexisNexis is an online academic library which is the #1 research database used by the Top 100 law firms in the UK. As a result, firms will expect you to be proficient on the database after your time at University. This is where I come in… I can offer you training in groups or 1-21 sessions, as well as basic and advanced certifications for you to put on your CV to highlight to employers your ability to navigate the academic library.
When and where will the sessions be? I will be running demonstration sessions in seminar rooms, as well as drop-in sessions in the Eldon Cluster most Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. I strongly advise you to take full advantage of these!
