a team of leaders throughout Newberry County collaborated for over a year to develop the Newberry County Digital Economy Ecosystem (DEE). The project was made possible through funding from the South Carolina Office of Rural Health (SCORH) via the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Rural Business Development Grant (USDA RBDG).
Communities were selected based on available technology, local interest + investment, and different social determinants of health. SCORH’s goal is to show that when a community has what it needs for quality of life, it is truly healthy.
Other counties involved in the DEE initiative: Barnwell, Orangeburg, Williamsburg, Greenwood, Pickens, and Oconee
