Biwott-sasini

Corporate Social Responsibility I happened to see a Sasini Limited Tender that appeared in the Daily Nation on the 26th of July, 2017. They were selling 996 Pine trees and 4,220 Cypress trees situated within their Kipkebe Limited’s forests in Sotik. Minimum bid was 500 trees and interested bidders were asked to first visit Kipkebe by prior arrangement to view the trees. Bids were to be sent by Registered Post to an undernoted address, and the envelope was to be super scribed boldly with words “Sale of Timber Trees”. But winning bidders were to be contacted through their telephone/postal addresses within 7/10 days after the closing date. The Tender number was SL/KIP/03/2017.

So it didn’t matter who bought the trees and what he intended to do with them. Vehicles had to be used and that was carbon emitted. Paper also had to be used in tender forms, envelopes and stamps, that’s more carbon emitted. But why was Sasini to quick to make telephone calls to the winning bidders? That saved them time and money. Sasini is a public trading company and on the same day their Tender appeared on the newspaper they had 107,000 shares trading at Sh26. Compare that to the Sh16 per kilo the Rift Valley tea farmers are getting from Kenya Tea Development Agency.

The late Hon. Nicholas Biwott left us with a very great present. His present came in the form of satellite coordinates of his resting place. Biwott was not just a religious father, he was also a husband, farmer, politician, business man and philanthropist. Scriptures teach us not to judge and that’s why I consider Biwott to be a living legend. In his lifetime he was involved in the formation of the East African Community. He was also the minister of Energy and Tourism.

Biwott’s Eulogy had to be printed on paper and due to his prominence a lot of copies had to be made. Those who attended his mass were in the hundreds. One can imagine the number of jobs made due to his death. That’s from farmers to publishers and drivers. The media also got involved and their findings helped sell a lot of Newspapers and Advertising space.

Biwott’s death brought us together in form of worship. Hymns and readings from the scriptures were made in honor of God and man. His death also introduced technology to those who never knew the use of Google Maps. From the heavens Biwott’s soul had worked with various satellites and network transmitters. That means a lot of data bundles was consumed in search for the Total Man’s last resting place. No other man had ever done this in Kenya and that’s coming from a man who never used smart phones. We came to learn that Maria Soti Girl’s Centre was named after Biwott’s mother.

Biwott’s death was a revelation in itself. Satellite images revealed a school that was less known to us. Different color shades from the roofs taught us how the sunrays are reflected by the iron sheet roofs. This will help us learn more on the impact of Global Warming.

Co-ordinates revealed what had happened to the surrounding forests just like what Sasini had been up to. In order to have a girl’s school a forest had to be cleared. In order for the community to drink tea more trees had to be cut down. This means trees had been replaced with knowledge. Unlike Alliance and State House Girls High Schools, Maria Soti Girls Centre is situated in a very rich and calm environment. Satellite Co-ordinates can now enable parents to monitor what happens around their daughters. The more they use Google Maps the more our networks sell data bundles and the more our government collects tax.

Biwott is a man who had travelled far and wide in pursuit for knowledge and greener pastures. He was a son of a farmer and had also taken part in the agri-business. It’s from Australia that he first met his wife who came to Kenya and taught great men in schools.

Biwott was also an African man and that meant he had more than one wife. His wives have raised great children who learnt from a great man. Death put them on the limelight and that’s how we shall continue to remember them.

Death brings a new beginning and since Biwott had a Tanzanian wife their children will continue to do great things for East Africa. When the three wives appeared together in Kaptarakwa they revived Biwott’s Mother’s dream. To us they are all great mothers before assuming other professions. As you can see below death broke the race and color barrier;

I have been drinking Sasini Coffee for only one purpose and that is teaching my children how irresponsible the company is. Sasini packs their coffee and tea in plastic sachets but never care about our environment. They are good in cutting down trees but lazy in collecting what they sell to us at Sh7 per sachet. Carbon emissions lead to Global Warming and Climate Change which has continued to affect our small scale farmers who depend on favorable climates unlike Sasini who can afford to do irrigation with piped water. We will continue to drink their products in order to show them we are good tax payers, patriotic and love our environment. We shall later involve our neighbors, schools and hotels. Once we have enough evidence then Sasini will be forced to pay for their actions. That will eventually hurt their investors and share holders.

A dog was known to mark its territories by the use of urine. Later a dog was seen in form of a cloud in the sky and a star in the heavens. In order for man to learn all that he had to make a lot of sacrifices. Now the same dog has helped us keep track of deeds and events by the use of satellites. That’s why a dog is man’s best friend.

From the name Tut-ankh-a-mun we have the word Tut for Toot Village. Many have gone searching for knowledge in all the wrong places. When Biwott was alive very few bothered to know where he was born or where his mother raised him. But they always wanted to know which scandal his name appeared in. Their deeds were all in vain but his deeds will always be remembered. Biwott continues to live in spirit and his soul has opened so many doors for us.
