Pupil Reaction to Different Situations
Anisocoria, Coloboma, Pituitary gland tumor, Third cranial nerve palsy, brain injury, Cluster headache, Iritis, Adie syndrome, and Horner's syndrome affect the pupils. Therein comes the need to measure pupil size.
Concussions and dilated pupils: Dilated pupils imply a person is impacted by a terrible concussion. Concussion may cause temporary or permanent vision problems. Acute injuries may give rise to permanent damage to the optic nerve. The swinging light test helps find pupil reactivity. Pupil measurement is important as the pupils tend to be smaller in reaction to daylight. They expand at night to facilitate more light to get into your eyes.
