STEPPING OUTSIDE

One of the ways NJC students Step Outside during their time in Switzerland is by learning through experiences; travel builds citizenship, global perspective, independence, and instills responsibility. Thanks to our donors, the NJC travel bursary program ensures that no student is left behind. Gifts have provided the opportunity to ensure all students are able to afford travel while they are at NJC. Here are just a few of the experiences our students had.

LOCATION: France and Belgium

EXPERIENCE: Remembrance Day (November 2022)

“The NJC experience has already made an immeasurable impact on who I am. I have learned so much in Neuchâtel but also in my travels. Each place I’ve been to has opened my eyes to something new. In Belgium, I experienced an immense sense of gratitude. The soldiers of WWI fought in horrific conditions. They braved each day in order for me to live the life that I do.”

EXPERIENCE: Service Trip (December 2022)

“Going to Africa was such an amazing experience for me, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to go. We got to do so many crazy things, like going on game drives to see lions and elephants, boat rides to see the hippos, hikes around various parts of Uganda, and so many other things. I will remember this trip as the most influential and eye-opening experience I have ever had.”
