A Network of networks It was something the Network’s founders never anticipated. But after NEW launched its first regional group in New England in 2003, the idea took off like a rocket. The Network has added regional groups almost every year since. In September 2010 the NEW Portland State University group merged with a contingent of Network supporters in Seattle to form the Network’s Pacific Northwest regional group. In November 2010, a group of industry women and men working in Toronto had their own “a-ha” moment and organized NEW Canada, the Network’s first group outside the United States. More than 7,100 Network members and guests attended 25 regional events in 2010 — informal mixers attracted still more. Regional groups bring the Network’s mission home to the communities where our members work and live. They provide cost- and timeefficient training opportunities and the chance to network with colleagues and clients. They grow the Network from the grassroots up, ensuring that the Network stays vital and connected.
