Usha Rajendar Usha Rajendar is a producer and an actress, known for working in films like Oru Thalai Raagam and Idhu Namma Aalu. She has also produced the movie, Uyirullavarai Usha. She is married to the Tamil director, Thesingu Rajendar, who is also an actor, a cinematographer, a singer, a producer and now a politician. They have one daughter, Ilakiya and two sons, Kuralarasan and Silambarasan. Uyirullavarai Usha is a Tamil film of 1983, and it stars Saritha, Vijaya T. Rajendar, Nalini and Ganga in main roles. It has musical score given

by Vijaya T. Rajendar. The movie was dubbed into the Telugu language as Prema Sagaram and remade in the Kannada language as Premigala Saval.

The story of Oru Thalai Raagam is based on the love life of Raja and Subhadra, played by Shankar and Roopa. Both are classmates, and their colleagues include Chandrasekhar, Ravindran, Thyagu and Kailash. The story starts at a railway station where both catch the same train to reach the college. They love each other, but Subhadra is an introvert, and she fails to reciprocate the love given by Raja.

Later in the movie, Raja gets jaundice and his health deteriorates. Once the college days are over, Subhadra decides to confess her love to Raja, but it becomes too late as the disease takes poor Raja’s life. Critics praised this film. They opined that Oru Thalai Raagam is an intriguing romantic story where the lead characters / lovers hardly speak, yet give the viewers a great message. Idhu Namma Aalu is another romantic film produced by Usha, featuring her son Simbu, and actresses Nayantara and Andrea Jeremiah.

Recently Usha’s son Silambaresan was involved in the beep song controversy with music composer Anirudh. Two criminal cases were

registered by the Chennai Police against him for singing vulgar songs, denigrating women. This issue had badly affected Usha, and she had come out in public to justify that her son was not responsible for the lyrics.
