OUR VALUES
Caring
We contribute to the welfare of those whom we serve.
Excellence
We go beyond what is expected.
Accountability
We are responsible to our clients, to our funders, to other stakeholders, and to the general public.
Respect
We treat everyone with dignity about who they are or the circumstances of our involvement with them
Collaboration
We work with other interested parties and stakeholders to contribute to the betterment of behavioral health systems and programs in the community.
Trauma Sensitive
We understand, anticipate, and respond to the needs of those who have experienced trauma, by providing a comforting and safe treatment environment, promoting selfempowerment of the client.
Cultural Awareness and Relevancy
We understand and address the role of race and implicit biases, how these can affect client and staff behaviors, attitudes, and responses, and how these can impact staff interactions with clients and with each other.
MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP
In this space last year, I wrote about how 2023 was a year of exceptional change It’s fair to say that 2024 was the year where much of that change started to “come into its own,” so to speak Making changes in the numerous programs we run – much less that several of them are 24/7/365 – means that we have to pay attention to both the short and the long runs If 2023 was the short run of planting seeds, 2024 was the long run of watering, fertilizing, and nurturing To provide but a few examples:
This past year, we saw our outpatient services grow into a robust clinic under the CCBHC model, which provides primarily behavioral health services – but
also ensures that the whole person is cared for by coordinating with other medical providers. By the end of 2024, only two years into services, we were already discussing the team having outgrown the space they are in.

Our Community Mobile Team – in which two staff respond to those in crisis out in the community –steadily increased its run count and prepared itself for 24/7 operation. That’s a first of all of the various mobile teams in Franklin County!
Our 988 services have continued to grow in call volume and therefore department size. That growth, though, has been almost exclusively work-from-home in nature – and, accordingly, we found that we could shrink our real estate holdings. We sold our 741 East Broad Street facility to The Breathing Association, a transfer that ensured that it stayed in nonprofit hands while also providing them space that they’d been unable to afford another way.
Similarly, we continued to modernize our other facilities and IT infrastructure to bring us current while allowing for growth room.
Please read on for more details of our progress – but as you do, please know that we remain incredibly thankful for your support and that of our community!

C L I E N T S T O R Y
From a young age, Matita faced unimaginable challenges, including trauma and abuse that left deep emotional scars. For years, she struggled in silence, turning to alcohol and drugs to numb the pain. Each time she felt like she couldn’t go on, she found her way to Netcare. When Matita came to Netcare most recently, she knew it was her last chance. She was ready to accept help, and with the support of our Crisis Stabilization Unit and Miles House, she found a path forward. The Netcare staff helped her become “the best me I could be” as she embraced every resource we offered. Matita is extremely thankful for her time at Netcare and encourages others, “don’t leave before your miracle happens.”

Carl had a typical upbringing and received his degree in economics and business administration. A few years later, he ended up moving back into his parents’ home to care for his mother. After she passed away, his relationship with his siblings deteriorated. Circumstances changed very quickly, and Carl no longer had a place to live He bounced around from place to place, but with no stable foundation, he considered ending his life He ended up in psychiatric care and was referred to the Netcare Crisis Stabilization Unit, and then went to the Miles House. There, he worked on stabilization techniques, and he was connected to multiple agencies that helped him find housing.
Carl now feels he has a stable foundation and is even writing a book! When he looks back at all of things he has been through, he says he is extremely proud of himself. Carl feels comforted and thankful knowing that Netcare is there and will never turn him away.
