Friday
IBN started off with Nerina’s first-ever Sumo wrestling tournament. The brave fighters suited up (stuffed pillows down their shirts) and got ready for battle The objective was to push your opponent out of the ring. Various tactics were employed by the fighters Some dodged and let momentum work against their opponents, while others took more of a ‘bulldozer’ approach. Ultimately, the best fighter (Alexi Hugo) claimed victory as Nerina’s first-ever sumo-wrestling champion
Saturday
After sleeping in on Saturday morning, Nerinas could enjoy some relaxing Quality Time with each other in the rec hall. There were snack platters with a lovely assortment of fruits. Paired with the snacks, each Nerina could mix their own refreshing drink as well and listen to some music while getting to know their fellow residents.
Later in the afternoon, it was time for the highly anticipated Amiga picnic. Amigas wore matching colours to help them identify each other. After a week of writing notes and exchanging gifts, the seniors were excited to finally see if they guessed their Amiga correctly. During the picnic, amigas could answer some ice-breaker questions and just get to know one another better. The past week’s notes left on doors made for some interesting conversation.

Who doesn’t love a movie night? Although the Open-Air Cinema couldn’t quite take place out in the open due to the weather, it was still an event to remember. The Nerinas watched How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a classically hilarious romantic comedy. While enjoying the fantastic movie, Nerinas could grab some popcorn and MyBrew coffee – for free It was a lovely, cozy girls night, perfectly matching the stormy weather outside.

Sunday
Nerinas could sleep in once again on this rainy morning. Early afternoon, Nerinas gathered to walk to Wilgenhof for Paint the Prims. The prims of Dagbreek, Huis Marais and Helderberg all posed atop a table, while they were painted. The painting was of course accompanied by some wine, adding to the atmosphere Whether they could paint well or barely manage some stick figures, it was certain that the Nerinas enjoyed themselves.
The last event of IBN was The real sections of Nerina. Each section had 20 minutes to rehearse a 2-3 minute play, to be performed in front of the house. The theme was each section’s name. While many sections opted for a talk show style and creating caricatures of each section, some sections were beyond creative. The winning section, Hyde, performed something akin to an apocalypse movie, complete with some interesting dance moves
