Neptune Memorial Reef

A One-Of-A-Kind Destination The Neptune Memorial Reef is the largest man-made reef ever created. Covering 16-acres of the ocean floor, it can provide sanctuary for over 100,000 individuals. Located approximately 3 miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, it thrives in just 40 feet of crystal clear water. This innovative, awe-inspiring destination has quickly become popular with ocean enthusiasts and environmentalists around the world. Scuba divers, boaters, marine biologists, fishermen and many others are fascinated with this one-of-a-kind lost city beneath the sea.(GPS coordinates: 25.42.036N,80.05.409W)

Life After Life The Neptune Memorial Reef was created with a non-polluting process that perpetuates the active growth of marine life. The fish population alone has gone from hundreds to literally thousands since the Reef’s inception. Not only does the Reef support the ecosystem, but it should also be noted that over 500 million people worldwide rely on reefs for their livelihoods. This environmentally friendly sanctuary is the first and only one in existence for those who prefer cremation, want to be memorialized and believe in preserving our planet’s resources. It’s a new choice for individuals and families to be honored and remembered in a way that reaffirms life after life. The Neptune Memorial Reef is a certified environmentally sound project and meets the strict guidelines of EPA, DERM, NOAA, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Army Corps of Engineers.

Choosing The Reef For Memorialization Cremation now accounts for over 30% of all funeral services in the U.S. It has become popular for many reasons, particularly because it is simple, economical and dignified. Memorialization in the Reef is achieved by placing the cremated remains within the various artistic structures. The ashes are carefully blended with a natural concrete substance, molded and then secured in the Reef, complete with an engraved bronze plaque. Placement in the Reef varies depending on the type of feature you select and its location. Families may or may not choose to be present during the blending process or placement. You can make arrangements in the Reef now, so that everything is handled and your wishes are known. If a friend or family member has already been cremated, you can still choose to have them memorialized in the Reef. We offer a variety of appropriate options to meet your needs, preferences and budget.
