Nepal Scouts is moving forward by Leaps and bounds for expanding Scouting to each and every local units of the country. After successful completion of Province Level Basic training in at Province No.1, Province No. 5 and Gandaki Province, Nepal scouts has extended its activities to 332 local units through thousands of newly trained competent scout leaders.

The third Province Level BTC PTC was conducted in Gandaki Province from 27th Feb. to 3rd March 2020 at Armed Police Force, Training Center, Lamapatan, Pokhara, Kaski.

373 enthusiastic Participants from 85 local units were trained. Besides that, 20 participants including local stakeholders, College/ School founders and Principals, and community School leaders were also oriented by a separate groups of trainers from Nepal Scouts.

On 28th Feb. 2020 Gandaki

Province Basic Unit Leader’s Training was formally inagurated by the Chief Guest Hon. Prithvi Subba Gurung, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, by hoisting the flag in presence of Special Guest, Chief Scout Hon. Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Bishwokarma), along with the cabinet ministers of Gandaki Province, members of parliaments and other dignitaries. The Chief Minister expressed his remarks to welcome the participants from 85 Local Governments of his Province. He appreciated the execution of Scout activities at grass root level with respect to the diversity of the country and the practice of inclusion was visible in the participants. He motivated the participants to be a part of national aspiration to establish rule of law and be an agent of change by expanding scouting to the young people of their local governments, educating them the values, put efforts to develop responsible citizens to create civilized world.

On the last day of the training; 3rd March. 2020, the spiritual aspect of the participants was enhanced by Scout Oath. It was followed by the closing Ceremony where Foreign Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Rajan Bhattarai was present to congratulate and welcome the new leaders of Nepal Scouts. He also handed over the certificates to the participants, training team members and support staff.

LUMBINI PROVINCE

Nepal Scouts had an immediate need to align its structure with the federal structure of governance in Nepal for efficient management and development of scouts and scouting activities. To meet this urgency, Nepal Scouts successfully organized Lumbini Province Basic Unit Leader’s training from 17th January to 22nd January 2020 at Armed Police Force, Training Center, Bardaghat, Nawalparasi.

532 young and energetic participants from 109 local level were trained. A dedicated team consisting of volunteer scouts and professional staffs under technical training team and logistics management team ensured the efficient and quality delivery of the training courses to the participants.

On 18th January, Hon. Shankar Pokhrel, Chief Minister, Lumbini Province and Chief Guest of opening ceremony hoisted the flag and inaugurated the Lumbini Province Basic Unit Leader’s Training formally in presence of

Cabinet Ministers and other promiment position holders of Lumbini Province.

The dedication of the planning team proved successful to integrate the diverse group of participants with each other and promote team spirit through patrol system. The vivid reflection of fundamental principles of scouting was observed in the behavior of the participants during the sessions and activities. Cleaning of periphery of Mayadevi Temple was carried out as a community service project during the training course. The closing ceremony was held on 22nd January 2020. Honorable Minister of Youth & Sports and Chief Scout Mr. Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Bishwokarma) attended to congratulate and welcome the new leaders of Nepal Scouts. He also handed over the certificates to the participants, training team members and support staffs. Besides the main training event, local stakeholders, college/school chiefs and community people were also oriented during the training.
