69TH & 70TH NEPAL SCOUTS ESTABLISHMENT DAY OBSERVED

On the occasion of the 69th founding day of Nepal Scouts, National Coordinator of Nepal Scouts Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari hoisted the flag and laid a wreathe at the statues of Lord and Lady Baden Powell, the founders of Scouting on Asad 5, 2077 and 2078. The event was attended by limited number of scout leaders and staff, including the director of Nepal Scouts. On the occasion, Nepal Scouts awarded some scouters and social activists with medals and cash prizes, who got involved on construction of quarantine and isolation centers, swab collection of potentially infected people, transporting the infected to the hospital, funeral of people infected by COVID - 19. National Coordinator (Ad Hoc Committee) of Nepal Scouts Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari awarded Mr. Rajesh Gaiju (Rover Leader) and Mr. Arun Sainju (Scouter) with Trishakti Patta (Pratham) followed by Cash Prizes of Rs. 150,000 respectively. Similarly, Mr. Nhuja Kiju (Rover Scouts) and Ms. Poonam Karmacharya (Social Activists) were also awarded with Trishakti Patta (Doshro) followed by cash Prizes of Rs. 75,000 respectively. On the 70th foundation day of Nepal Scouts, many scouts were recognized with awards and decorations who were involved in services after Covid19 became pandemic and other categories of recognized service to Scouting. 37 Scouts were awarded with Gallantry Award, 58 Scouters were awarded with Long Service Award for their service of Scouting in Nepal. On the occasion, 11 news reporters were also recognized with Scouts Journalism Award for their support in highlighting Nepal Scouts in the news media. 9 Young girl leaders were awarded with Inspiring Young Women Award. 1071 Scouts were awarded Covid19 Volunteers Award. Speaking on the occasion, National Coordinator Mr. Bhandari expressed his gratitude and congratulated to the awarded dignitaries. Mr. Bhandari added ‘the Scouts who proved themselves as a hero by serving the Nation in a difficult situation of Covid 19 made the entire organization proud’.

FAREWELL TO RETIRED STAFF

KISC Masterplan

Nepal Scouts organized farewell program for its retired staffs and expressed high respect for the hard work, diligence and contribution made by them. Miss. Laxmi Devi Dangol, former Accounts Assistant and Ms. Kiran Masal, former Computer Operator, served the Nepal Scouts for 29 plus years. Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari, National Coordinator of Nepal Scouts, honored Miss Dangol and Ms Mashal with Letters of Appreciation and Dosalla. National Ad Hoc Committee members Mr. Shiva Bahadur Bhandari, Mr. Bijendra Dhwoju, Director of Nepal Scouts, Mr. Ram Prasad Bhattarai and staff members were also present on the occasion.

Kakani International Scouts Center is going to be developed into a center of attraction for Scouts and general people. With the mega plan to redevelop the center maintaining the greenery of the center, it will be redesigned to accommodate more scout activities in the center. General people will also be able to enjoy the amenities at the center as visitors. The center is already a SCENE center recognized by WOSM. With the Master Plan ready to be implemented, the center will be a self sustainable center of Nepal Scouts.
