FINANCIAL AID Many ďŹ nancial aid opportunities are available. The Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy are able to provide institutional funds to students who demonstrate high need. Students who provide parent information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be eligible for campusbased aid in the form of institutional loans and grants. Students are also encouraged to use scholarship search engines on the Internet and to contact professional societies, organizations, foundations, unions, companies, religious organizations, sororities, fraternities, etc. about scholarship opportunities. Federal Stafford loans at higher graduate loan limits are available to students. Students are eligible for the unsubsidized loan ($40,500 for medicine students, $33,000 for pharmacy/ M.P.H. students, $20,500 for other graduate programs) in which interest of 6.21 percent begins to accrue when the loan is disbursed. Federal GradPLUS loans are available at a higher interest rate of 7.21 percent if a student has maximized his/her Federal Stafford loan eligibility.
