Nemacolin Survivor Series

The scenario for this event is as follows: while traveling, your plane crashes near a lake in the middle of nowhere. The nearest civilization is hundreds of miles away. You have no cell phone service, and food is limited. A handful of items have been salvaged from the wreck but have been scattered throughout the area. There are only a few items your group has so be careful not to lose them or leave them behind.

Teams will need to decide which supplies are most necessary to take with them. The teams will not know the challenge until after the items have been selected. During the challenge, if you find that you need something you don’t have, you are able to use anything that is NOT man-made. The team with the most points at the end wins the Survivor Series.

Standard Activities

BOMB REMOVAL

With limited supplies, your team will be challenged to safely remove the bomb from one location to another. You will need to be creative with your supplies to make sure the bomb does not explode!

THE BULL RING

The task sounds simple enough: move a ball from point A to point B using a ring with strings attached to it. Each team member must hold a string and guide the ball through a series of obstacles without dropping it, finally reaching the goal, and placing it back on its rightful pedestal. This activity stresses communication, the importance of the details, and doing tasks right, rather than just doing them quickly.

CENTIPEDE SHUFFLE

Talk about working together! Your whole team steps up to giant skis and grab handles. The challenge is to walk in unison through our obstacle course in the fastest time possible. You’ll have to work together to identify and solve issues along the way to speed up your pace toward the goal! Teamwork, communication, and efficient processes are stressed in this fun and fast-paced activity.

CLIMBING WALL PARAGRAPH CHALLENGE

The group will take turns climbing roughly eight feet up our vertical climbing wall to a paragraph that will be taped to the wall. One at a time your group members will climb up and attempt to remember as much of the paragraph as possible before descending back to the ground to write all that they remembered down. Be careful to remember everything from capital letters to punctuation!

GIANT PUZZLE

Two members of the team are blindfolded while the rest of the group instructs them on putting the giant puzzle together. It’s not as easy as it sounds! Blindfolded participants are the only ones allowed to touch the puzzle pieces.

MAGIC CARPET

Your team will be on a magic carpet ride. Unfortunately, the instructions on how to steer and land the carpet are on the other side of the carpet. As a team, you must flip the carpet over while still standing on it.

MINESWEEPER

This is a game of memory and non-verbal communication. As a team, you must find the code to pass through a grid of squares. If you step in a square that is not the order of the code, you must go to the end of the team’s line. Once this game begins, team members can only use non-verbal communication. Once the entire team has passed through the grid using the correct code, the challenge is complete.

THE PIPELINE

Stressing the importance of answering the needs of your customer and being able to change with trends in the marketplace is the focal point of this challenge. The simple act of transporting precious cargo from point A to point B becomes challenging when our team throws in some curveballs and new rules in the middle of the game.

SNAKE

This is a non-verbal game of teamwork! Your team will line up single file with everyone blindfolded except the person in the back. Each person will hold the shoulders of the person in front of them. As a team, you must weave around a room and collect objects, placing them in a bucket while using only non-verbal commands. Each member can only collect one item.

TALLEST TOWER

Using any 10 (or 20 or 30 pieces) create the tallest tower possible, with only three points of contact with the floor. If you are limited by vertical ceiling height, require each tower to hold something (like a roll of duct tape) at the top. This added weight will require a shorter, stronger tower.

WATER TUBES

Working as a team, your group will retrieve an object from deep within a vertical PVC tube, using limited resources. Can you work together as one to retrieve the object?

WORDLES

Wordles are mental challenges. They provide an interesting and enjoyable series of unique word puzzles which serve as a basis for lively group discussion.

Minute to Win It

Based on the NBC hit TV show Minute to Win It, this team-building game is inspired by the cubicle mayhem that cures workday boredom. Venture to think outside the box, knowing that your team building and patience skills will be tested.

Available:

Indoor activity; available year-round

Duration:

This team-building event lasts approximately one hour.

Pricing:

$60 per person, includes tax & gratuity

Minute to Win It Activities

BACK FLIP

A player must flip pencils into the air, and then catch them together. The player adds two more pencils with each turn, building to a final set of 12. The player cannot add the next set of two pencils until the previous set has been caught. To complete the game, the player must catch sets of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and finally 12 pencils in succession within the 60-second time limit.

CARD NINJA

To complete the game, the team must stick five cards into the foam within the 60-second time limit so that it stays that way for three seconds.

DEFYING GRAVITY

When the clock starts, the player releases all three balloons into the air. The player may not hold balloons, allow them to rest on the body, or hit the ground, or the game is over. To complete the game, the player must keep all balloons off the ground for 60 seconds.

DUCK WALK

This is a relay race. Have a contestant carry two balls. Ball one goes behind their back, held by their elbows; ball two goes between their legs. Contestants will start at a hula hoop, walk to a second hula hoop, and then go back to the beginning. Then the next team member goes, etc.

FIELD GOAL

A two-person game where a cup is turned upside down on a table with a meter stick balanced on it. On both ends of the meter stick, you must stack six cups total, going from right-side up to upside down in order to create two field goal posts. If everything can balance once all the cups are used for three seconds, the challenge is complete.

FLIP YOUR LID

You and a partner must flip a cup on the edge of a table onto a glass bottle in the center of the table. The pair will get two cups and as many attempts as needed within one minute with the object of getting one cup on the bottle.

GET FORKED

Forks will be set down with the prongs facing down on a table with quarters on the other side of the table. Players will then attempt to roll a quarter into one of the prongs on one of the forks at the other end of the table.

HOT AIR BALLOON

Fifteen empty cups are placed a few inches apart down the middle of a table. Once the clock starts, the player must blow up an empty balloon, and use the air in the balloon to blow the cups off the table. All fifteen cups need to be blown off the table within a minute.

JUNK IN THE TRUNK

With a container full of 10 ping pong balls attached to their waist, the contestant must shake 10 ping pong balls out of the box without using their hands.

NOODLING AROUND

The contestant must pick up six pieces of penne pasta from the table, using only an uncooked strand of spaghetti in their mouth. If any penne pasta breaks or falls, the game is lost.

NOSE DIVE

The player must transfer six cotton balls, one at a time, from one serving bowl to another using only petroleum jelly on the nose.

PUDDLE JUMPER

Three cups are set up across from three other cups. The distance between the first two is 3”, the second 6”, and the third 9”. Each cup is filled with water, and a ping pong ball is in the cup on the left. A player must blow the ping pong ball from one cup into the cup directly across from it. The other player fills up the cups with water.

QUARTERS

Two people from the team must try to fill an entire ice cube tray with tokens in less than one minute by bouncing the tokens off a table once. If you make more than one coin in the ice cube hole, you can keep going until all holes are full.

SPEED ERASER

In this game of speed, you and a partner must bounce one pencil into each of the four glass cups placed in front of you. Using the eraser side of the pencil will help to bounce the pencil into the glass. The pencil must stay in the cup in order for it to count!

SPINNING QUARTERS

This is a two-person game where one teammate spins a quarter across a table to his/her partner who then tries to stop the quarter with one finger, so the coin is vertical in a designated area of the table. If the team can successfully stop one coin in a minute, the challenge is complete!

STICKY FINGERS

This is a two-person game where one partner will bounce a ping pong ball across a table to the other partner. The other partner must catch the balls with a lint roller in each hand. Once the catcher has caught three ping pong balls on each roller and they stick and stay to the roller, the challenge is complete.

STACKER

The player has a stack of 36 cups. The goal is to stack all the cups in a triangular formation with eight cups at the base. Once the cups have been stacked all the way to the top, the player must then unstack the cups into one single stack. This activity must be completed in one minute.

TILT A CUP

One player will be on each end of a table. One player will have a stack of eight empty cups and hold the stack in their hands while the other player has a handful of ping pong balls. The goal is to bounce the ping pong balls into the empty cup. Once the ball is caught, the player with the cups must take an empty cup from the bottom of their stack and move it on top of the cup that just caught the ball. The key is that the player holding the cups must only be holding the cup on the bottom. The cups will end up wobbling and the player must catch one ball in each cup and balance for three seconds to complete the activity.

TORTILLA HEAD

One player will be standing across from another player holding a pan on their head. Another player has scuba flippers on their feet and must scoop a tortilla shell on their flipper and fling to the person with the pan. One tortilla shell must land on the pan to complete the activity.

WHAT A RACQUET

Balance and patience are virtues in this activity. Place a tennis racquet between your legs with the racquet strings parallel to the ground as you try and wiggle a marble around the racquet to land in a designated racquet hole.

Nemacolin’s Amazing Race

Working in teams, your group will compete against each other in a race of cunning, wits and teamwork. Your teams will traverse the over 2,200 acre property solving riddles and completing challenges along the way.

The Rod & Range Club Games

FIVE STAND

This game utilizes eight automatic traps with five shooting locations. Each location features one single clay and two pairs. Shooters in a squad of five move from station to station and shoot a predetermined menu of shots and combinations.

FUR AND FEATHER

This game utilizes two automatic traps, one of which will be a bunny machine bouncing along the ground while the other is a standard clay being thrown like a bird, hence the name “Fur and Feather” for the rabbit and the bird. A group can choose any number of targets to shoot at this event.

TWO-MAN FLUSH

Using two traps, the targets are launched and fly in all directions away from the trap house. Two shells are loaded in each shotgun, and a rail holding 10 shotgun shells is set in front of each shooter to make reloading quicker. Targets (24 total) are launched at 1.5-second intervals. Shooter number one takes the first two, shooter number two the next two, and so on. A perfect score would be a 24.

WOBBLE TRAP

Wobble Trap is a new and exciting shotgun sport. Five shooting stations are provided, and each shooter is given five shots from each station. The trap is located underneath the third, or center, station. It is stationary but oscillates on both horizontal and vertical axes, hence the name “Wobble.”

The shooter calls for the clay to be thrown, and it comes from a trap at any angle. After five shots from five stations, the game is over. A perfect score would be 25.
