Nelson Mandela Museum is a notfor-profit institution established by the government of South Africa as part of a portfolio of legacy projects that seek to transform the heritage landscape from our apartheid past. At the same time, it is a resource for promoting economic development t h r o u g h o u t t o u r i s m i n a n impoverished region of the country This is a region in which I was born andgrewup.

It is at the Great Place where he atta ned his leadership qualities. Nelson Mandela Foundation in partnership with David Turnley has handed over this intriguing exhibition to the Nelson Mandela Museum to form part of its trave ling exhibitions around the country The photographic exhib t on produced by David Turnley an acclaimed photographer who captured South Africa s strugglebetween1985and1994.

Th s accla med photographic exhibit on captures various moments of the struggle in South Afr ca and his thoughts and reflections such as various portraits of Nelson Mandela and his family Political violence and police reactions; times of a necklace; the delight on a poverty-stricken girl's face at her father s ant cs; the contrast of a priv eged wh te schoolboy and the two black womenpassingbyhim.

The quilt exhibition is a result of Nelson Mandela M u s e u m a n d t h e Michigan State University Museum ong standing partnersh p that dates back to the times of Nelson Mandela himself. In tribute to Nelson Mandela and in support and advocacy for the principles to which he was devoted artists around the wor d would make quilt items with different designsandmeanings.

Walter and Albertina met at the General Hospital in 1941, where the latter was a nurse. Their extraord nary love story traversed 59 years. They married in 1944, with Mandela as best man, and went on to have five children.

Museum hosts a myriad of educationa programmes in the f o r m o f o c a l y o u t h a n d international youth camps. These campsareeducationalinnatureas they are in sync with the curriculum of the department of education. The learners in these camps are also introduced to leadership programmes where they are taught about ethical accountable and responsib e leadership. This is done with the assistance by personnel from the Nelson Mandela Un versity The camp is also an arena for the learners to engage in debates that encourage them to become innovative independent and critical th nkers who offer solutions to soc etal cha lenges andproblems. T h e m u s e u m a l s o h a s a partnership with Anne Frank Haus in Lower Saxony County Germany This partnership affords five (5) South African earners se ected from different provinces an opportunity to travel to Germany for the International Youth Work Camp. E-legacy online classroom to engage with learners was developed Learners are engaged in topics on South African history and the values of Nelson Mandela Learners also competed in our educational essay competitions and made their oral presentations through digital means such as Zoom and MicrosoftTeams.Theseplatforms also assist the students in bridging the digital divide even for the learners who are from the m a rg i n a i s e d s p a c e s a n d periphery in our communities.
