Museum as a Tower
Academy of Art University, spring 2022
ARH 608 Faculty: Aurgho Jyoti
Location: Berlin
Should we talk about the past Express the futur
Try to change the perception of the present?
Why not aknowledge the wisdom of the past
Welcome the hope of a better futur
And celebrate the resilience and the happiness found in the present
The minimal footprint and opening in the mass at ground foor level refects the understanding of the past as throughout the years through diverse competitions the site was meant to be develop as a luxurious garden, be a link between the different cultural institutions and a place of encounter. The volumes reaching out of the main mass refect the function of the space, in one case dedicated to conferences and showing that activity to the public, in others creating observation spaces for the cityscape framed views from different heights. The tower more than freeing the site, marks the center of the cultural core by its height. The uses and values of the museum are shared and people feel welcomed and invited.

In-Betweens and Eudaimonic Architecture
Thesis Project Synthesis
Academy of Art University, fall 2023
ARH 810 Faculty: Eric Reeder
Location: Montreal
Architecture acts as a motivational and inspirational equation to bring us to be the best version of ourselves. It challenges the impact of other external factors infuencing our well-being. It has the power to have an eudaimonic effect on us. It can redefne our experience of the city and inspire our days, it can also help create sustainability, productivity, and happiness within communities. By opening possibilities for individual and community growth it raises the sense of accomplishment that makes us whole.
Forms and spaces are originators of movements, experiences and activities. They facilitate and remind intentions by showing possibilities of physical support. They also encourage those actions through functionality, accessibility and psychological comfort.
General form can bring a dynamic rhythm or slow our walk and bring us to observe the context. The architectural path can defne possibilities of use as well as the program and organization. The defnition of in-betweens can mark a break in a daily route to bring us to an inspired state. Inspiration then can be created through the building’s monumentality and changes in spaces, rhythms and views but also through possibilities of meditation and focus. The in-betweens developed in subspaces bring a range of possibilities to live the architecture by creating moments and opportunities to position ourselves in our environment in order to optimize our capacities. Architecture becomes adaptable and inclusive.
