Bubbles.

Procedure:

Student 1: “He introduces the experiment”.

Place: Playground of the school.

Do you like bubbles? I love bubbles. Let´s enjoy ourselves, but later we are going to talk about. Catch them!

Students 1-6: Blow bubbles and the rest catch them. 3 minutes later, Student 1: Pay attention to colors we can see. During this experiment we´ll investigate the splitting and mixing of light.If

you need take your notes, please write here. Today, we are going to introduce the rainbow spinner.

Student 2: “He will present the tools that will be used.”

As you can perfectly see we are going to use this materials. Please, pay attention and check if you have anything we need.

Student 3: “He will do the experiment itself, explaning what he is doing”.

Place: In class We can bring the colours together by making a cupboard disk with all the colours and then spinning a rainbow spinner.

I cut out the cardboard disc and divide it into seven equal segments (you can use the protector or perharps you prefer the one we´ve done for you. Please, choose.

I have to colour the segments with the seven colours of the rainbow.

I make two holes in the centre of the card (1 cm), apart and thread the string through them making a loop at each end. I put a finger through the end of eache loop and flip the disc over the tring several times until the tring is well twisted. I pull my hands apart and let the string go slack (you can use a pencil) The disck should now spin.

Student 4: “He will ask questions to the group class”.

What colour does the card appear?

Where do you think that the colours you see in the rainbows, in bubles…, etc can from?

If we switch off light will we see the colour?

What would the world be like without it? Think about your clothes, weather gardens…

Do you know some criatures can not see colours? For example, dog are colour blind (black, white or grey).

Colour is really the way our eyes see different kinds of lights.

Ordinary light consists of the seven rainbow colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

Isaac Newtoon was the first person to show that light could be spilt up into seven different colours.

Just as raindrops or prism can split while light into seven different colours so can white light be made by mixing the seven colours together.

By spinning the disc quickly the eyes see all the colours together (persistence of vision) and so the disc appears white.

Helping colleagues walking around the class space (expect 3 and 4) Improving: Let´s watch a video and listen the rainbow song! Or Try to connect to a motor… Is there any different here.

Difficulties: 1. Shy boys and girls prefer to know before what they have to say in front ot the others or helping with lesser oral participation.
