As well as looking after the Fur, Jenny makes sure I don’t forget anything, which is perhaps her hardest job!

Derek’s right hand man is our assistant show manager, Jason Reeves whilst his partner Natasha Rickman is overseeing the admission area, which is obviously a new aspect of the show we have had to deal with this year.

Caroline Hollis is looking after the Rex and Rare Variety sections in her usual unflappable efficient manner. And finally, Jenny – my other half – who is as usual running the Fur section with the assistance of Jean Thompson and Laurel Thompson (not related).

I must mention our chairman Derek Medlock, who is in charge of the planning of the layout of the show apart from numerous other jobs. With extra space this year now that the Pigeons are not in the same building I am sure he will wonder how he managed in previous years.

The Lop section is the responsibility of the team headed by Phil & Ruth Brasier and assisted by Stevie Brasier. The fancy section is under the management of Hannah Geddes – not yet an official Brasier but partner of Thomas Brasier – and Emma Brasier.

The section managers are the committee members who you all come into contact with, but the show could not function without our small group working together behind the scenes.

Hopefully all the hard work put in by the section managers and the rest of our small committee will be rewarded with a decent entry, not only in the London but also in the 37 stock shows we have with us once again this year.

pleased to say that all four sections are being managed by the same teams we have had for the last few years.

The “London” is not just for rabbits but also caters for Mice, Gerbils, Rats and Hamsters and we are now only days away from what we hope will be a happy and successful weekend at the London – win or lose – although I realise, very sadly, that some of our regular supporters will be missing because of the dreadful RHD which is still causing havoc.
