DEXTER is St Ives’s very own off-the-track Thoroughbred and lives with his brother, Atlas! Dexter was rescued back in 2014 as a very skinny, lanky, 2 year old - and he’s been living with his mum Georgie for the last 6 years, growing from a skinny little baby, to a big, beautiful horse. Dex is very affectionate and would crawl into your lap if you let him! His favourite thing to do is go for walks around the streets of St Ives.
PEBBLES

SOME of you may recognise Bok Bok as the infamous escapee chicken that caused an uproar on the St Ives Community Facebook page! Her plan for independence was officially foiled, and she is now happily living at Rosedale Farm, munching on vita wheats and refusing to lay eggs - she’s a very rebellious bird! PEBBLES is 4 years old and the most amazing pooch to us. She was training to be a guide dog when she decided it wasn’t for her, but being in a family with who cherishes her is. Pebbles is a gentle, affectionate, sometimes cheeky, amazingly lazy and loving dog. Pebbles wins the hearts of all who meet her.

II HAVE two rescue dogs: Rocky Buble Lovesponge Whippet, aged 7, and Shay da Grey aged 5 ½. There are increasing numbers of St Ives locals adopting rescue greyhounds. I have volunteered for Greyhound Rescue for several years. I donate monthly, write blogs for their website and travel out of Sydney to pick up unwanted greyhounds from trainers to transport them to Greyhound Resmatching them with loving owners. Here’s Michele Rossetto’s experience of adopting these beautiful animals.
