Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Robert (Sonny) Feinman for his sixty years of service to The Islip United Methodist Church and Little League of the Islips.

Since an early age, he was active in Youth Groups, singing in the choir at The First Congregation

Church in Bay Shore. He was active in Little League for 65 years, serving as President for 28 years. He started as an umpire and was active in maintenance and was a manager and Vice President. He worked at Grumman in Bethpage for 36 years until retiring in 1993. He also served on

the Trustees and Ushers Committees at the Church.

held a huge, church-wide garage sale to raise money for their various mission projects.

Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter attended a birthday party for one such resident at the Deer Lake Senior Club in West Islip recently.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate the 90th birthday of Josephine Vitrano. Josephine was born in Italy, grew up in

Brooklyn and moved to Bay Shore in 1959. She was a devoted wife of over 68 years to Joseph, and dedicated herself to raising her four children, Joseph, Robert, Stephen and Cynthia as a stay-at-home mother. When her children were grown and on their own, she worked for more than 20 years at her son’s 7-Eleven, creating bonds and friendships with the customers who visited the store.

Josephine is an adored grandmother of 6, esteemed great grandmother of 8, and has been a dedicated

member of the Deer Lake Senior Club for more than 25 years. She enjoys playing bingo, raffles and parties at the West Islip Senior Center. “Josephine has lived a life with grace and respect, and over the course of an extraordinary 90 years, has defined a legacy for all who know her to admire. On behalf of the members of the Islip Town Board, we wish Josephine good health and happiness in the years to come,” said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
