There is no charge for admission and parking is free. Doors open at 10am, and the event runs until 1pm.
Employers from across Long Island will be seeking candidates for positions including entry and middle management level, licensed professional, hospitality and food service industries, banking, staffing and individuals with technical and IT experience.
“We’re proud to have helped thousands of residents find meaningful employment through our career center and private sector jobs fair,” said Supervisor Saladino. “The
Workforce Partnership and Town of Oyster Bay are committed to helping residents find meaningful employment opportunities as well as assisting local businesses in recruiting qualified employees.
This Mega Job Fair will connect private and public sector employers with job seekers.”
The Town of Oyster Bay serves as administrator of The Workforce Partnership, a consortium of local governments funded by the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act that provides free valuable resources to both employers and job seekers at Career Centers in Hicksville and Massapequa. These centers help train employees to meet the needs of the private sector, connecting qualified job seekers with employers, and by assisting applicants in accessing job opportunities. The Centers
offer Resource Rooms, which are equipped with state-of-the-art computer workstations, complete with Microsoft software and internet access. Additionally, these Centers offer residents access to job listings, resource materials, photocopiers, fax machines and telephones. The Centers provide employability and computer workshops, as well as career counselors who will guide residents through their job search. Computer workshops are taught on-site in modern computer labs. Residents can increase their marketability by updating or acquiring new computer skills at the Centers.
For more information about this program and the many other great services that the Town’s Workforce Partnership program offers, contact (516) 7974560 or email business@ oysterbay-ny.gov.
Summer 2024 was filled with some extraordinary moments for YES and our families with the support of the Take Me Out to the Ballgame Foundation.
During the summer months, over 80 children and their families were able to partake in some memory filled events including trips to watch the Long Island Ducks as well as Adventureland Amusement Park. “Not every child has the opportunity to enjoy some fun and joyful moments with their families but thanks to the Take Me Out to the Ballgame Foundation, memories were made,” commented Adrienne LoPresti, YES Executive Director.
The smiles and excitement of the day’s events were captured as parents and their children were given the
opportunity to enjoy the day together. “This was the first time, in a long time, that I was able to relax with my kids and just let them enjoy the time together. We are so grateful to YES and the Take Me Out to the Ballgame Foundation for making this possible for us.” (parent)

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Receiver of Taxes Jeffrey Pravato joined with NYPD officials and representatives from St. Mary’s High School to announce a scholarship fund in memory of Detective Jonathan Diller, who was tragically murdered in the line of duty in March, leaving behind wife Stephanie and a young child. Supervisor Saladino, alongside Stephane Diller, acknowledged Larry Weinberger, president of MGD Realty, for spearheading the scholarship initiative and contributing the first $5,000 to get it off the ground.
A 2010 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset, Jonathan learned the importance of values, service, community and respect while achieving academic success. This well-rounded education was important to him and led him to a career in law enforcement. Stephanie and her family want others to have the same opportunity that Jonathan did at St. Mary’s, which led to the creation of this scholarship initiative.
Officials invited the public to help them reach the goal of $100,000 by attending
“The Town of Oyster Bay never forgets its hometown heroes, and Officer Diller sacrificed his life because of his bravery and undeterred commitment to serving the public and keeping us safe,” said Supervisor Saladino. “He will forever be remembered as a hometown hero, and the Detective Jonathan Diller Scholarship Fund launched today will ensure people will forever remember him.”

Ballgame and the Henry Schein Foundation. This year, once again, the extraordinary women of the Columbiettes and My Club donated an assortment of backpacks, filled with school supplies so that those in need would have everything ready for their 2024 school year. The Take Me Out to the Ballgame Foundation donated gift cards to assist families with the added expenses that often arise at a new school year, so that clothing and lunch/snack items could be purchased.
In addition, The Henry Schein Foundation provided local children in need, from YES Community Counseling Center with backpacks, gift cards, and a fun-filled Back to School Event where the children were welcomed at their Corporate Headquarters
in Melville, Long Island. Adrienne LoPresti, YES Executive Director, expressed appreciation on behalf of those families who were now able to send their children off to school with everything they needed to enjoy a successful academic year.
“Oftentimes, families are financially challenged with long lists of supplies and materials that are difficult to purchase due to limited funds. As a result of the support of our caring community groups and Foundations, a tremendous burden has been lifted for our most needy families. A grateful parent shared, “My kids were so excited to look through their new backpacks that were filled to the top with everything they needed. It made this time of year so much less stressful for us.”

Massapequa High School
senior Ryan Keane has been named a semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. The recognition is based on his performance on the PSAT and now he will vie to reach the finalist round.
Ryan was recently notified by his guidance counselor, Victoria Rimbert, about the achievement, which was attained by approximately 16,000 students nationwide. The accomplishment has Ryan feeling “overjoyed” and “very honored.”
When he graduates high school in June, Ryan will have taken 12 Advanced Placement and college-
level courses, along with 14 AP exams. In addition to taking on some of the most rigorous and challenging courses at the school, he is also involved in extracurricular activities as a member of the German Club, Mathletes, Science Olympiad team and Students Against Destructive Decisions.
Computer science is Ryan’s primary area of interest, as he has taken numerous courses offered at the high school. It is also his planned college major. He noted that there are so many possibilities in the field, such as cybersecurity and game design, that he is keeping his career options open.
Ryan, who got his start at Fairfield Elementary School, credits his academic success to highly supportive parents and teachers. He also is very appreciative of the diverse range of courses and academic programs in Massapequa.
“They offer so many different classes,” he said. “There’s so much customization to your schedule.”
To be considered as a National Merit finalist, Ryan will have to complete an application and essay. Those who are named finalists will compete for approximately 6,900 scholarships totaling $26 million.

Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Tom Hand announce that the Town will partner with the Massapequa Farmingdale Men’s Club to host a Peanut Butter Collection Drive. Beginning on October 15th, residents are invited to donate new, unopened and sealed peanut butter to help replenish local food pantries and support families in need. Drop-off containers are located at Town Halls North and South, as well as at the Town Ice
Skating Center. Alternative butters, including sun butters, almond butters and cookie butters, as well as jelly, are also accepted.
“We are proud to partner with this great organization to help ‘spread the love’ and stock local food pantry shelves with this very popular product,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Peanut butter has a long shelf life, provides many nutrients and doesn’t require refrigeration, making it among the most highly requested items from local food banks. We thank the Massapequa Farmingdale Men’s Club for again putting our local communities first with another wonderful initiative to help others.”
The Massapequa Farmingdale Men’s Club mission is to provide and encourage involvement in education, charitable and social programs for the men of local communities, and to support the local and wider community with activities and contributions.
“The Massapequa-Farmingdale Men’s Club has been assisting local foodbanks for more than five years, and we’re supporting their efforts by helping to collect food, fill shelves and feed the hungry,” said Councilman Hand.
The Peanut Butter Collection Drive will run from October 15th through November 15th. Drop off bins are located during regular business hours at Town Hall North (54 Audrey Ave, Oyster Bay), Town Hall South (977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa) and the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center (1001 Stewart Ave, Bethpage).
