Reworld™ Employees Continue Annual Tradition Of Volunteering At 9/11 Day Meal Packs Event
Reworld™, a leader in sustainable waste solutions, had several employees venture to New York City to participate in The National Day of Service and Remembrance 9/11 Day Meal Packs event. This year marked another chapter in the company’s commitment to giving back to the community, as employees volunteer their time to help pack meals for those in need.
“Volunteering at the 9/11 Day Meal Packs event is a meaningful way for us to honor those we lost and give back to our community,” said Maureen Early, Lead Community Relations Specialist at Reworld™. “Reworld™ is proud to support this cause every year and help make a difference in the lives of those in need.”
The 9/11 Day Meal Packs event, organized by the nonprofit 9/11 Day, is one of the largest annual
volunteer initiatives in the United States. The event honors the lives lost and the spirit of unity that emerged in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, by turning a day of tragedy into a day of service. Volunteers from across the country come together to pack millions of nutritious meals for distribution to food banks and shelters nationwide. These meals provide essential support to families facing food insecurity, a cause that resonates deeply with many who participate.
Reworld™ employees have made it an annual tradition to join this event, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility. The act of packing meals together not only serves those in need but also fosters a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose among volunteers. Each meal packed is a
tangible way to remember the unity and compassion that arose from one of the darkest days in American history.
At this year’s event, Reworld™ employees joined thousands of other volunteers in packing meals that are carefully prepared to meet nutritional standards, ensuring that those who receive them have access to wholesome food. The meals are then distributed to food banks, shelters, and other organizations that serve vulnerable populations.
For more information about Reworld™ and its initiatives that support various community empowerment and environmental programs fostering positive change locally and globally, please visit www.reworldwaste. com.

Three BHS Student-Musicians Selected For NYSCAME Festival
Three Babylon JuniorSenior High School student-musicians were recently selected to participate in the Suffolk County chapter of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County Festival this
November. This selection recognizes their hard work and talent in their respective musical fields.
Singers Brady Cuneen and Allie Manetta were chosen for the Mixed Chorus, and Nathaniel Schubart was selected for the Division IV Band. The
students were chosen based on their NYSSMA scores and recommendations from their music teachers.
The NYSCAME High School All-County Festival is an annual event held across New York State. The Suffolk County chapter, hosted by the Suffolk
County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA), honors students who have demonstrated musical excellence. In selecting students, teachers consider various factors, including NYSSMA solo scores, work ethic, and dedication.
“Congratulations to
Brady, Allie, and Nathaniel for this great honor,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Cheryl Schweider. “This selection is a testament to their dedication and passion for music, and it is certainly well deserved.”
12-Step support group giving Hope & Strength to parents, family and friends concerned with a loved one’s destructive behavior caused by Alcohol, Drugs or Related Behavioral Problems is now meeting virtually until further notice. For further information e-mail or call: Donna526@aol.com or (631) 835.8788; Diane (631) 587.0966, www. FamiliesAnonymous.org

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
Sometimes life can become overwhelming. There are so many people who need help, but where do we even being?
When I think about ways to show my gratitude and of helping others, I think about the quote from Mother Teresa. I might not be able to feed every adult and child who are hungry today, but with your help, we can help feed some of them.
We can create a ripple effect. Someone in the next town will see what we doing, and they will start their own food or clothing drive... and then someone in the next town, and the town after that. Pretty soon, millions of people who needed support during a tough time in their lives will nd it. Hopefully, they can pay it forward when they have the means to do so.
Gratitude causes ripples, and ripples cause change. Let’s create some ripples this month for people who can use our help. Here are the details:
What: Thanksgiving Food Drive for St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.
Where: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Lindenhurst.
When: The month of October. All donations must be in by Saturday, November 2nd.
More: We will collect nonperishable items for Thanksgiving dinners at JoAnn Cilla Real Estate, 203 E Montauk Hwy, Lindenhurst NY 11757 on the following days:
• Mondays 3pm-5pm
• Wednesdays 12pm-2pm
• Fridays 11am-1pm
• Saturdays 9:30am-12pm
If you can’t drop off at these times or need us to pick up your donation, please call me at 631-539-6000. I am grateful for your help, JoAnn
AOH St. Patrick’s Division 2 Announces Annual
Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser On October 5th
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) St. Patrick’s Division 2 proudly announces their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser.
Ron Rice, Chairman of the event states the fundraiser will be held from 12-Noon to 6 PM on Saturday, October 5th at the Hibernian Hall.
Located at 27 Locust Avenue, the fundraiser will feature musical entertainment and special
performances by Mise Eire Irish Dancers and Saffron United Pipe Band. There will be drink specials and food for purchase, a giant Chinese auction and 50/50 raffles. Suggested donation is $5. All proceeds will be equally distributed to the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition and West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition for Long Island. All are welcome!
AOH St. Patrick’s Division 2 was organized
on October 6, 1946, in Babylon, NY by Michael Rice. St. Patrick’s Division 2 is the only AOH Division in the Town of Babylon and has been a staple in the community since its start. Their address known as the Irish Cultural Center incorporates membership that includes men, ladies, junior boys, and girls; the Gerry Tobin Irish Language School; Mise Eire Irish Dancers and Saffron United Pipe Band.
Supporting Small Businesses
Supporting small businesses ensures more money stays in the communities those businesses serve. The U.S. Small Business Administration says $48 out of every $100 spent at
a small business stays in the community. On the flip side, when a person spends $100 at a big-box store or a national chain, only $14 remains in the community. Local businesses are more likely to utilize other local
businesses, such as banks, service providers and even farms. Small businesses also pay employees, many of whom are local and shop local, thereby keeping even more dollars in their communities.
Bird Walk at Point Lookout Town Park and Lido Preserve October 6
Join the South Shore Audubon Society on a bird walk on Sunday, October 6, starting at 9 AM, at Point Lookout Town Park; and afterwards at the Lido Beach Passive Nature Area . The group will meet in the southeast corner of the large parking lot on the south side of Point Lookout Town Park and will walk east along the
beach toward Jones Inlet. After the beach walk, we will return to the parking lot, and drive west on Lido Boulevard to Lido Beach Passive Nature Preserve to walk through the bay marsh. The Preserve is on the north side of Lido Boulevard. All are welcome. Walk leaders and other birders and nature enthusiasts will be happy to share their knowledge and experience with you. The bird walk is free of charge. Bring binoculars. Rain will cancel the bird walk. To register, text your name and contact information to Joe Landesberg at 516 4679498. For more information, log onto www.ssaudubon. org.
