RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Mixed Berry French Toast
There may be no better way to start Mother’s Day than serving Mom some breakfast in bed. A homemade meal before Mom even gets out of bed can set the right tone for a day that celebrates all mothers have done and continue to do for their children.There’s no shortage of breakfast in bed options to serve Mom this Mother’s Day. If Mom loves a traditional hearty morning meal, this recipe for “Mixed Berry French Toast” courtesy of Taste of Home (tasteofhome.com) is sure to please.
Makes 8 servings
6 large eggs
1 3⁄4 cups fat-free milk
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1⁄4 teaspoon salt 1 loaf (1 pound) French bread, cubed 1 package (12 ounces) frozen unsweetened mixed berries 2 tablespoons cold butter 1⁄3 cup packed brown sugar
Directions:
Whisk together the first 6 ingredients. Place bread cubes in a 13 x 9-inch or 3-quart baking dish coated with cooking spray. Pour egg mixture over top. Refrigerate, covered, 8 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Remove berries from freezer and French toast from refrigerator and let stand while oven heats. Bake French toast, covered, 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, cut butter into brown sugar until crumbly. Top French toast with berries; sprinkle with brown sugar mixture. Bake, uncovered, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 15 to 20 minutes. If desired, dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve with syrup.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that voting on the school district budget for the year 2025/2026 and election of Members of the Board of Education will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 for the transaction of business as authorized by the Education Law by Ballot on Voting Machines or by Paper Ballot, if voting machines are not available or as otherwise provided by Law or Regulation. The three candidates receiving the highest plurality will be elected to the three (3) year term. The candidate receiving the fourth highest vote total will be elected to the balance of the unexpired term.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Annual Budget Hearing of the West Babylon Union Free School District, Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, New York will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM, for the transaction of business as authorized by the Education Law including:
1) to present to the voters and discuss the proposed budget and the amount of money which will be required for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Said exemption report, which will also become part of the final budget, will show how much of the total assessed value on the final assessment roll used in the budgetary process is exempt from taxation; list every type of exemption granted, identified by statutory authority, and show:

Distrito escolar propuesto por la Junta de Educación del West Babylon Union Free School District para el año fiscal 2025-2026 que requiere la asignación de los fondos necesarios para satisfacer los gastos estimados del Distrito según la Sección 1716 de la Ley de Educación y para autorizar la parte necesaria de los mismos que se recaudará mediante impuestos sobre la propiedad imponible del Distrito sea adoptado.
Y elegir a tres (3) miembros de la Junta de Educación por un período de tres (3) años y un miembro por el resto de un período no vencido que comienza el 20 de mayo de 2025 y vence el 30 de junio de 2026. Los tres candidatos que reciban la mayor pluralidad serán elegidos para el período de tres (3) años. El candidato que reciba el cuarto mayor número de votos será elegido para el resto del mandato no vencido.
SE NOTIFICA ADEMÁS que la Audiencia Anual de Presupuesto del Distrito Escolar Libre de West Babylon Unión, Pueblo de Babylon, Condado de Suffolk, Nueva York se celebrará el martes 13 de Mayo de 2025 a las 6:00 PM, para la transacción de negocios según lo autorizado por la Ley de Educación, incluyendo:

Y ADEMÁS SE NOTIFICA POR LA PRESENTE, que si un votante está registrado de conformidad con §2014 de la Ley de Educación en el Distrito Escolar Libre de West Babylon Unión y es elegible para votar de conformidad con el Artículo 5 de la Ley Electoral, también es elegible para votar en esta elección. Y ADEMÁS SE NOTIFICA POR LA PRESENTE, que las solicitudes de voto por correo en ausencia o anticipado pueden obtenerse en la Oficina del Secretario del Distrito (Oficinas Administrativas, 10 Farmingdale Road, West Babylon, New York 11704). La solicitud de voto en ausencia o de voto anticipado por
correo debe ser recibida por el Secretario del Distrito no antes de treinta (30) días antes de las elecciones. Las solicitudes de inscripción de votantes militares y las solicitudes de boletas electorales pueden solicitarse al Secretario del Distrito por correo postal a 10 Farmingdale Road, West Babylon, New York 11704 o por correo electrónico a Jparada@wbschools.org o por transmisión de fax al 631376-7019 y dichas solicitudes deben recibirse en la Oficina del Secretario a más tardar a las 5:00 P.M. del 24 de abril de 2025.
