At Neev, experiential learning is centered around engaging students in hands-on experiences that promote deep understanding and critical thinking. This approach goes beyond traditional classroom instruction, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world application. By offering various opportunities for students to apply what they learn in meaningful contexts, we aim to cultivate skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and reflection.
Interdisciplinary unit - Linking Learning to Real-World Contexts
The two-week interdisciplinary unit (IDU) offered rich learning opportunities fostering responsible, ethical lifelong learning. Through expert sessions, collaborative activities, and reflective tasks, students synthesized knowledge from readings, hands-on activities, and skill-building exercises like blog creation and graphical analysis. Last year’s IDU for Grades 6 and 7, Sanskriti Vaibhava: The Temples of Bangalore, blended history and visual arts, exploring Karnataka’s dynasties, their kings, and architectural achievements, while analyzing principles of temple design. Aligned with NEP 2020, IDUs will continue to enrich ICSE students, guided by themes suggested by CISCE.

Grade 10 students explored identity in Gudalur by engaging with Adivasi tribes, learning about their culture, resilience, and challenges while reflecting on tribal development and environmental sustainability. At the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP), students delved into the historical significance of art mediums and created their own pieces, deepening their understanding of artistic expression. At the Param Science Centre, interactive exhibits like Kinetics Kingdom and Digital Galaxy connected scientific theories to real-world applications, sparking curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration. These immersive experiences inspire reflection, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning.

Leadership opportunities
The Neev Literature Festival (NLF)
The Neev Literature Festival (NLF) is a flagship event that celebrates the transformative impact of children’s literature. It immerses students and families in a world of stories through author interactions, creative workshops, performances, and conversations that explore themes of identity, culture, and heritage. Featuring renowned authors from India, NLF underscores the importance of quality children’s books in nurturing empathy, imagination, and critical thinking. These stories spark big ideas, proving that even small beginnings can lead to significant change.
