environment-based design for a droneport in Tokyo
The project is focused on the construction of a tower droneport for the take-off and landing of electric drones (eVTOL electrical Vertical Take Off and Landing veichles) dedicated to passengers transportation. It is located in a central area of Tokyo on the edge of the Shiba park and dominated by the iconic views of the Tokyo Tower and the Zojo-ji Buddhist temple. The project was developed in a fully procedural manner through the Grasshopper visual programming software and using generative optimization procedures. The morphological and external skin studies were carried out through Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis simulation procedures through the software SimScale. The project also includes energy optimizations conducted through Building Energy Simula-

Conference room wall for MIND District’s marketing suite.
Originating from a concept of dynamism, WOOD-SKIN helped creating the ‘ripple effect’, as in a drop of water whose point of impact generates energy and a multitude of concentric waves that propagate far beyond the size of the drop itself.
The structure is lightweight and accessible from both front and back, leaving the technical details clearly visible. The 40-sq/m surface of this unique wall is divided into segments, each different from the other.
Thanks to the dry assembly method, the wall can be entirely disassembled and reused in different contexts.
