An Adventurous Trip Essay

At the end of a road trip/journey, young adults are reminded of whom they are and what shapes them by doing the activities they are most interested in during a trip of helping a friend move away to a different state. School has just ended; it's a beautiful summer day when suddenly a call from a friend leads me the next day in a car for a road trip. Bringing a book, drawing utensils and a camera to pass the time thinking, I probably won't need to use it at all. Not knowing at the time that this trip would end up being very eventful like a car breaking down in the middle of a very hot day on my way home. Many people have different artistic tastes that help them, identify them as a person. My artistic tastes in reading, drawing, and photography have taught me to be patient, adventurous, and calm. First, reading taught me to be patient in the different situations I happen to get myself into. Ever since I was really young I've enjoyed reading, it's always been one of my favorite pastimes. Whenever I was bored or impatient for an event that was going to happen my parents would hand me a book so I would distract myself and I wouldn't be so impatient all the time. Then I would end up being engrossed in reading that book I would forget what was happening around me and where I even was at in that moment. One could be talking to me and I wouldn't even notice it'd be like they were talking to a tree. I would spend hours reading until someone tried really hard to snap me out of it, for I

Descriptive Essay On A Trip

The art studies–at–large trip has been a once in a lifetime trip. From a twenty–four hour plane trip with a stop in Chicago and time zone change, it has been an exhausting yet enjoyable time running around with my classmates in the airport. Being in a different country and experiencing a new culture first hand was astonishing and gave me a new outlook of the beauties in the world. From Montone, Florence, Venice, andRome I had the ultimate trip in Italy. The food, language, and culture were different from what I was used to but it was worth the experience. I was not fond of drinking wine with every dinner though the wine was delicious. I had the best pastas, tiramisus, and coffees while I was in Italy. The art was beautiful; it was breathtaking to see how many free artworks was there for the public. After being in Italy for about a month I can see why people are attracted and want to live in Italy. Montone is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town. I enjoyed the walk to town, the covenant, Aries CafГ©, the tavern restaurant, and the town's people. I had the best cappuccino and coffee at Aries and I loved every dish I ate at the tavern restaurant. The view from the covenant was beautiful and works perfectly for a painting. Getting around town was easy with everyone being so nice and helpful. The piazza was a great place to hang out because of friendly the environment was and it was the main spot in town where everyone stayed. Getting a chance to draw Italy's million Get more content

Preface "Shahkam, hurry! We mustn't be seen! " My mother said in an undertone. "Wait, mama! I need my necklace!" I replied. "You needn't a necklace, Shahkam. You are a boy!" "But mama, it is a gift! From the King! And I'm sure people in Canada wear them!" I pleaded. "No! We must leave! We can't afford to miss the ship. It's our only chance to get out of Iran!" She sounded irritated. "And sit in a refugee camp for a year." I said testily. Then my tone changed. "Can we at least say goodbye to Grandmamma?" I sobbed. "We can't. But she left us a note." She held out a battered envelope addressed "Farah and Shahkam", and I began to sob harder. "Shh..." She said as she raised her finger to her lips, then put her hijab back over her...show more content...

My heart was pounding hard against my chest. I didn't want to fall. I pushed harder towards the middle before I was pushed forward. Thankfully, we were in the middle, although people either side of us were stumbling at the edge. We were pushed through, entering the side of the boat. I let out a sigh of relief and we were escorted down a hallway. The interior of the boat had a strong, bitter smell, causing a burning sensation inside my nose, continuing down the back of my throat deep into the pit of my lungs. A large man was guiding us down the hall, taking us to our dormitories. We walked, and walked, and walked, the boat was like a labyrinth. Eventually, we reached a large room, with a huge iron door. The man stopped at the door and beckoned us forward, through to the room. It was dark and dank inside, and there was no furniture, only old, soggy looking mattresses. The man roughly cleared his throat before speaking. "My name is Amjad. While you are on this boat, you will stay here. Meals and amenities will come to you." *** I had no idea how many days I had been on the ship when it happened. It was just like any other time. All the other children around me sat, crying with hunger pains, their mothers telling them to hush. I was filthy, and my eyesight felt weak from being in the dark so long. I was lying on a mouldy mattress, thinking about whether or not breathing in the spores would affect me, when the ship rocked sharply over

The Conservancy is 35,000 acres big and is home to many Maasai villages. The Mara Plains Camp was founded by Dereck Joubert who wanted to come up with a camp that combines romance, discovery adventure and exploration. To make this possible he made the entrance to the camp a footbridge over the Ntiakitiak River to a small slope and at the end of the journey the tourist is greeted to an endless horizon that is dotted by a single tree. The luxurious tented camp's design is heavily influenced by Maasai and Arab culture in its design. It has large wooden doors that reflect Swahili heritage of the people of Lamu. A Surprise Trip

A Surprise Trip

Observation Essay

It was about 10:30 Saturday morning when I woke up, still feeling bad from the night before. My boyfriend decided at the last minute to surprise me and four of our children with a day at the beach the day before. We left with only the clothes on our backs and bathing suits. It was only after we arrived that we decided to stay the night. So we got us a room at the Sea Foam motel in Nags Head, NC.

After I was finally able to get up from the bed, I woke the children up to get ready so we could leave. We all took showers, packed up all our belongings and headed out. It was well past the check–out time before we left, but the housekeeper just laughed and told us to take our time. We all jumped into the...show more content...

My boyfriend and I watched as the seagulls flew overhead and the children tossed them breadcrumbs, ducking their heads every time one would swoop down over them. Just before we reached the Island, I caught a glimpse of a pod of dolphins swimming along in the distance. Minutes later we were able to spot the Island, so we all headed back to our vehicles as we approached Ocaracoke. Once we reached the dock, we waited in the van until it was our turn to exit.

Once we had departed the ferry, we continued south on Highway 12. We passed several restaurants and gift shops on our way. There were people walking and riding bikes along the sides of the road as we drove past. It was not very long before we had reached the southern tip of the Island, so we turned around on Highway 12 and started heading back north towards the ferry. Along the way we decided to stop by one of the gift shops called "The Pirates Chest." We all went inside to look around. The shop was filled with little knick knacks, toys, shells, etc. We let each of the children pick them out something, paid the cashier and we were on our way again.

Before we reached the ferry, we made one more stop by "The Dipping Dots" for some ice cream. The shop had all sorts of goodies, including cakes, brownies, fudge and candy. The children walked around the shop while we waited for the cashier to finish helping another customer. I could tell that they were
