3.For the safety and security of our students, attendance forms must be submitted by a parent before 8:20 a.m. for absences, and one hour before early release or late arrival.

4.For students leaving school early, a parent or legal guardian must fill out the online attendance form BEFORE 2 p.m. ATTENDANCE FORMS REQUESTING EARLY RELEASE BETWEEN 2 and 2:30 p.m. WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

5.Students may NOT leave school with anyone other than their parents without written permission from the student’s parent or legal guardian.

Liturgies are an important part of life at Notre Dame Preparatory and a requirement for all students. Absences from Mass must be submitted directly to the Principal and are rarely approved.

COMMUNICATIONS (cont.)

Communication is a two-way street. There is an important partnership between parents, students and the faculty, sta and administration at NDP As a community of Saints, we must have an open and respectful dialogue to solve conflicts if they arise To do so, we have set the following chains of communication to help resolve issues with reverence, respect and responsibility.

ACADEMICS CHAIN OF COMMUNICATION

Should a concern arise in the classroom or with a student’s grades the following procedure should be followed:

1 The first line of communication between students and teachers should always be the first step in helping them build self-advocacy skills.

2 After the student has communicated with the teacher, then the parents can contact the teacher directly via email if necessary. Faculty information is available at ndpsaints org/myndp/sta-directory

3.If the issue remains unresolved, the parent should then communicate his/her concern with the department chair or the student's counselor

4.Parents should only contact the appropriate Assistant Principal if the chain of communication has been exhausted.

ATHLETICS/ACTIVITIES CHAIN OF COMMUNICATION

Should a concern arise during an athletic season, House or club event, the following procedure should be followed:

1.To help students and student-athletes build self-advocacy skills, the first line of communication should always begin between the student and the coach, Head of House or club moderator.

2 After the student has communicated with the coach or club moderator, the parents can contact the coach or club moderator directly to schedule a meeting with the parents, student and coach or club moderator

3.If the issue remain concern with the a Assistant Principa

4 Parents should on exhausted.

FAITH FORMATION

Under the patronage of Our Lady, everything that we do at Notre Dame Preparatory is aimed at the formation of the whole person – body, mind, and soul.

The great love of God should shine through in every academic department, each athletic team, and all clubs and activities Specific formation in the Roman Catholic faith is woven into the fabric of being a Saint Together, our community experiences:

Transformative Retreats - From our initial Freshman Welcome and our immersive mission experiences to our powerful KAIROS retreat, NDP Saints have multiple opportunities to spend quality time with God and one another Likewise, faculty, sta and parents are encouraged to take advantage of retreat opportunities, and special formation events, tailored to them

Engaging Prayer & Worship - NDP is actively engaged in prayer and worship every day. We celebrate Mass, pray together as a school, and observe a daily student-led Examen We celebrate the seasons and devotions that add so much richness to our faith We bring our gifts and talents in music and the arts to draw one another deeper into God’s beauty

Passionate Christian Service - Every student at NDP is actively engaged in serving others. Our Christian Service Learning program is an important graduation requirement that is designed to connect our students’ passions with their God given gifts We provide many opportunities for students to serve and encourage them to create their own events and projects

Meaningful Campus Ministry - NDP responds to the call of Pope Francis to be a Church of accompaniment. We engage in peer ministry, fun youth groupstyle activities, and small group Bible studies. We form students for the sacraments and celebrate them together

LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!

We are a Community of Saints and that is why we love to host events that bring us together to share in the special bond we have as members of the NDP family.

CULINARY FESTIVAL

Favorite restaurants from all over the Valley bring their culinary delights to this fabulous dining extravaganza under the stars on the NDP campus. This 21+ event is casual, and features great food, drinks, a silent auction and much more! We were voted The Best Culinary Event in the Valley by AZ Foothills Magazine! Visit ndpsaints.org/culinaryfest. Join us on Nov. 8!

GRANDPARENTS MASS

Grandparents have always been a part of the Notre Dame Prep story. Many are Saints fans and school supporters. Each year, on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we host an event to celebrate the grandparent/grandchild connection. This year there will be a special Mass set for Nov. 25. Registration will open in October

PARENT GATHERINGS

Throughout the year we host the homecoming parent tailgate, Mothers' Guild luncheons, Men of NDP Legacy Breakfast and parent socials. We will send special emails when these events arise.

HOMECOMING GAME

All the SAINTS; past and present will fill Bemis Field to watch our homecoming game this year! The game is set for Friday, Sept. 19

VOLUNTEERS

The partnership between NDP faculty, sta, alumni, and parents is vital to the growth and success of our students and institution. We invite parents and alumni to volunteer, join our parent and alumni associations, and actively take part in the mission and vision of our school.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING

The first step to becoming a volunteer is taking the Safe Environment Training (SET) through the Diocese of Phoenix. All parent and/or alumni volunteers MUST attend one SET introductory class or annually renew their SET training through the Diocese of Phoenix to be cleared to work on campus. Classes and renewals must be taken after July 1 each year. To get started, visit phoenix.cmgconnect.org.

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN

For the safety of our campus, all volunteers and visitors MUST sign in and sign out at the front desk. There are no exceptions.

FUNDRAISING AND OUTREACH EVENT VOLUNTEERS

The Advancement Oce uses parent and alumni volunteers for our annual fundraising and community-building events including our Culinary Festival, Golf Tournament, Alumni Hall of Fame, and Auction Fashion Show. Please contact Heather Weurding at hweurding@ndpsaints.org if you would like to get involved.

PARENT AND ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS

Mothers’ Guild, Advisory School Board, Saints Supporters Club, and The Alumni Association serve as vehicles for parents and alumni to engage in the life of the school and bolster the NDP experience. Involved parents and alumni share in fun and lasting friendships while building a cohesive community. Through these organizations, parents and alumni can volunteer, socialize, pray, and grow the NDP family. For more information visit ndpsaints.org/parents or ndpsaints.org/alumni.
