PROVIDING CARE ANYTIME ANYWHERE
DAYMARK RECOVERY SERVICES
Our North Carolina Telehealth Subscriber Daymark Recovery Services (DRS) is a North Carolina behavioral services provider and a North Carolina Telehealth Network subscriber. Its services include both outpatient and residential psychiatric services to address mental illnesses, various developmental disabilities and substance abuse. DRS provides tailored, evidence-based services to roughly 250,000 patients at locations distributed across 50 of North Carolina’s 100 counties.
The DRS Challenge Importantly, many of the DRS sites are located in rural North Carolina. Example rural sites are those in Reidsville, Wadesboro, Raeford, Sparta, Newland, and Wilkesboro. For many of North Carolina’s rural communities, demand for mental health and substance abuse services overwhelm local capacity leading to overcrowding in local hospital emergency departments, high demand for support from local sheriff departments, and demands on patient families that are not sustainable..
“Our treatment programs are designed to give the highest [quality] treatments possible. However, our available direct care hours pale in comparison to the time our patients spend on their own trying to foster their recovery…………”
The DRS Story -
Billy West, CEO, DRS
DRS has recognized this issue and with help from their public payers (MCO) responded with new crisis centers and, importantly, the provision of telemedicine services that provide caregivers with patients’ medical histories, allow doctors to share secure patient information, track prescriptions to keep their patients safe, and use highdefinition conferencing services for patient consultations. As a behavioural health innovator, DRS has come to rely heavily on network based technology solutions to provide high-quality care that is also very accessible care. DRS has joined the Carolinas Healthcare Health Information Exchange. Now DRS providers can leverage the Exchange to review complete patient medical records for those Daymark patients who visit Carolina Healthcare facilities. DRS has also adopted Direct North Carolina Telehealth Case Studies
