Sustin Anderson, MBA Executive Director Meharry Medical Group Sustin Anderson, MBA has worked in healthcare for over twenty-five years in physician practice management, process improvement and consulting. He began his career as a Management Engineer at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana, providing systems engineering and process improvement expertise to a 400 physician multi-specialty clinic. This experience led him to provide operational improvement consulting services for Premier, Inc., a healthcare consulting firm. Since then, he has worked in physician practice management at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Lifepoint Health. He currently is the Executive Director of Meharry Medical Group at Meharry Medical College, managing all business aspects of the faculty clinical practice group. His expertise and interests are in the transformational change in healthcare service delivery. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and from the University of New Orleans with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Xylina D. Bean, MD Associate Project Director, CWPCMH initiative Chair and Professor, Department of Pediatrics Meharry Medical College Dr. Xylina Bean is a pediatrician who specializes in neonatology. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Physiology at Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her fellowship and residency in Neonatology at Martin Luther King, Jr. General Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. She also served as Chief of Neonatology at King/ Drew Medical Center. Dr. Bean is co-founder and former CEO of SHIELDS for Families, a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles that empowers high-risk families. In 2006, Dr. Bean returned to Tennessee and became the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Meharry Medical College. She has one daughter, Raven, whom she calls a blessing. Edith Gonzalez, LPN Care Coordinator Meharry Medical Group Meharry Medical College Edith Gonzalez is the care coordinator for MMG for Total Health in Antioch TN. She is responsible for implementing quality programs and compliance. Her background is as a licensed practicing nurse and has worked in the medical field for over 15 years. Additionally, she is bilingual in Spanish.
