WHEN
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
SHOULD WE GO ON SUMMER VACATION?
• Ideally, the week of July 4th is the best time for a Summer Vacation.

WHAT IF
WE’VE ALREADY PLANNED ANOTHER TRIP?
• Communicate with the coaching staff (in advance) any activities that would keep your player from being at team activities.
WHEN
SHOULD I SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS?
• Not during team activities or workouts. As much as is possible, plan any necessary appointments during down time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT ARE ACCLIMATION DAYS?
• The GHSA mandates that all players participate in a five-day acclimation period at the start of each season. Missing these days (July 25-31) will put your player behind schedule.
WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING?
• Everything your player needs will be provided for them, with the exception of a pair of WHITE Nike cleats.
WHAT ABOUT FALL BREAK?
• Our schedule will look different that week, please be on the lookout for additional communication to this end throughout the season.
Recruiting Information

Overview
• In order to be recruited by colleges for athletics, students must meet certain academic requirements in certain milestones of their high school years.
• Students/parents can track academic progress and set plans for courses with the help of our guidance department and their assigned guidance counselor. Unofficial/Official Transcripts can also be made available.
• Three Key Questions:
• What does the student need to do?
• What do I need to do?
• How do the coaches help?

NEW RECRUITING WEBSITE
What Can I Do?

• There are two steps that need to be done by the parent/guardian of a prospective student-athlete:
• Sign student up with the NCAA Clearinghouse/NCAA Eligibility Center
• Google “NCAA Eligibility Center” or go to https://web3.ncaa.org/ ecwr3/
• Click “Register”; begin following prompts
• Sign student up for the SAT/ACT
• SAT: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat
• ACT: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-andservices/the-act/scores/sending-your-scores.html
• Can also google “SAT/ACT Registration”
Testing
• Core Course Requirement – Each high school has a list of approved NCAA Core Courses with a requirement to pass 16.
• Core Course GPA – The NCAA does not use your entire high school transcript for determining your GPA, they are only concerned with core courses.
• NCAA Sliding Scale – A combination of your GPA and SAT/ACT test scores is used to determine your eligibility.

• Each is evaluated for recruitment and acceptance into the college.
• National Average:
• SAT: 1070
• ACT: 21 (*Not Sum Score)
• 2.5 GPA
• SAT: Old = 820; New = 900
• ACT: 68 Sum Score
• 3.0 GPA
• SAT: Old = 620; New = 720
• ACT: 52 Sum Score

• ACT: 39 Sum Score
• Sum Score: calculated by adding together your English, Math, Reading and Science scores. You can take the ACT a total of 12 times during high school, and your top scores in each subject will be used to create your highest ACT score.
