Mission Statement
To strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service.
I will get things done for America— to make our people safer, smarter, and healthier.
I will bring Americans together to strengthen our communities.
Faced with apathy, I will take action.
Faced with conflict, I will seek common ground.
Faced with adversity, I will persevere.
I will carry this commitment with me this year and beyond.
I am an AmeriCorps member a
Dear AmeriCorps member,
Congratulations on completing your AmeriCorps term of service in the NCCC or NCCC FEMA Corps program. Along with more than 1.25 million AmeriCorps alumni, you have made a significant difference in the lives of fellow Americans.
Whether you engaged children in after-school programs, provided support for FEMA projects, or built trails in our national parks, your selfless actions improved lives, strengthened communities, and demonstrated that service is a solution to some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. You have our sincere thanks for providing critical support to survivors of natural disasters at their time of greatest need.
In the years to come, I hope you will continue to answer the call of service. As an AmeriCorps alumnus, you have the skills, knowledge, and experience to be a leader in your community. Whether you volunteer a few hours a week, work at a nonprofit organization, or start your own organization focused on social change, we need your continued commitment to bring out the best of our nation. Your firsthand experience also makes you our best advocates for the critical impact of national service on our democracy, the power national service holds to bridge divides, and the need to eradicate barriers to service.
AmeriCorps alumni are bound together by a common service experience and a desire to be active members in their communities. As we celebrate AmeriCorps’ 30th anniversary, there are no better storytellers of AmeriCorps’ legacy than you. We invite you to stay connected with us. Visit our website at AmeriCorps.gov/Alumni to sign up to receive updates, find resources, links to follow us on our social media channels, and an opportunity to share your story.
Thank you for your service and best wishes for your future success.
In service,
Dear AmeriCorps NCCC and FEMA Corps Members:
It is with great pleasure that I congratulate you on successfully completing your AmeriCorps NCCC term of service. You have made a significant difference for individuals, communities, and in your own life.
You and your fellow members served with dedication and selflessness. When our nation faced unprecedented challenges, you rose to the occasion, delivering help and hope in times of great need. When nature showed its worst, you showed America’s best – putting compassion into action. When communities imagined a better life for themselves, you answered the call and helped make their dreams a reality. Your service lifted spirits, restored hope, and rekindled community where it was needed most. You should be proud of this tremendous accomplishment, as am I.
Three decades ago, more than 20,000 Americans raised their right hands and pledged to get things done for America. Since then, more than 1.25 million Americans have followed in their footsteps, providing billions of hours of service across each of the 50 states and U.S. territories. You are now a part of that legacy of service.
I hope this year has strengthened your commitment to ongoing service and civic participation. Our nation needs it, and our nation needs you. We invite you to keep up with us on our website and follow @americorpsnccc on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Consider sharing your service story with your friends, family, and community. In whatever you do next, we know you will continue to get things done for America.
Congratulations on a job well done, thank you for choosing NCCC, and best wishes for future success!
Most sincerely,
COLOPHON
