INTRODUCTION
A University is an institution of learning of the highest level, having a college of liberal arts and a program of graduate studies together with several professional courses, and authorized to confer both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The University aspires to combine equity and social justice with excellence, and to pioneer an institutional culture of non-hierarchical functioning, teamwork and creativity. A university differs from a college in that it is usually larger, has a broader curriculum. The University strongly believes that no knowledge becomes socially productive unless it spreads across society, transcending barriers of caste, creed and class. Only then can teaching and learning become liberating undertakings, contributing to the promotion of equality, social justice and excellence. This ideology of the university should be reflected through planning and design of the new campus. The relationship of this university, to the urban and rural environments needs to be embedded URBAN DESIGN with the idea of fostering values of an equal and just society.
INTRODUCTION Keeping in mind the importance of access to higher education across all cross-sections of the society, the Ambedkar University Delhi proposed a new campus at Dheerpur to accommodate around 4000 students, 250 faculty and 250 staffs by 2022. The proposed campus should reflect a space of transition between past, present and future. The campus should be energy efficient, and fulfill all the parameters with environmental sustainability along with modern construction techniques. The criteria for evaluating the campus design will pay particular attention to the following ideals:

Construction, maintenance and processes that are resource efficient and environmentally responsible. 2. Design and construction of campuses that enhance the research and learning environment in ways that minimize waste, pollution and environmental degradation. Sustainability Indicator standards and norms regarding the use of resources. Water conservationWater saving technologies, Rain water harvesting, Maximizing water recycle potential, Waste water treatment system. Energy ConservationInnovations in structure and materials for thermal comfort and cooling. Lighting, ventilation and climate control design to minimize energy use Renewable and alternative energy
